"Overall, I thought it was a really good spring," he said. "I thought we got better every day individually, I thought we got better as a football team — offensively, defensively and good work in the special teams." /b]

Did not know where to post the above, thought I would start a thread to "further" what I and others often questioned about the previous 15 years in Athens.

Did not take 15 years for Mike Bobo to figure out one of the major areas that needed to be "fixed", now that he is a head coach. Fifteen years, never heard a "peep" from Bobo about Special Teams.

Bet this . . . . might be a 5***** player, but Smart and Company do not coach the way the previous head coach did. Want to play on Saturday, pay attention to Special Teams.

So much is coming out about the way our team was not being coached up for far too long.

Can't give the "Bleeding Hearts" any room, already they are trying to move forward with the "good man stuff". Maybe I read too much . . . . that will not stop, read and converse with folks in South Florida and some in Georgia, most of us are getting the bad taste out of our mouths. Don't agree with the last sentence, speak up, or . . . .

Go Dawgs, seems recruiting has hit a "new high". Natural high . . . .

“When you turn over the play-calling as a head coach, you become more of just a CEO-type of coach,” Richt told SiriusXM College Sports Nation. “Obviously a lot of coaches had success doing it that way, and we did at Georgia, but it’s just not as much fun. You’re just not as involved. I think the players, over time, see you as the grandfather figure, just keeping an eye on everybody.”

At Miami, Richt is calling plays and coaching quarterbacks, and he says it’s mutually beneficial.

“Now, I’m in the heat of every meeting, the heat of every battle on the field, installing stuff, calling stuff, competing on a daily basis against a defense,” he said. “They see my energy, they see my competitive spirit that is more reserved if I’m not in the heat of it. I think it’s healthy for me. I’m enjoying it tremendously, and I think it’s healthy for the players to see me get down and dirty with everybody else.”

And your time spent in Athens was for what?

Still believe you left a "huge hole" in the Classic City.

Watched Greg McGarity giving you credit for the IPF on the SEC Network.

Thanks for the kick in the butt Coach Jeremy Pruitt. Most of us understand.

We know that is not true . . . . don't we. Who knows, maybe we find a really good person to wear the title of Athletic Director in the near future.

Hopefully... on the AD

It amazes me to hear our former coach talk about he's back into now, and blah blah blah
If he knew that was the right thing to do... why didn't he do it here?

Anyway....
Almost reminds me of all those other times we heard about Richt being rejuvenated and reenergized while he was here.

Sorry, but when you have to be rejuvenated every other year, I question your committment...

I have a feeling the folk in Miami will be questioning it in a couple of years as well.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

I have had enough 'spin speak'. I can spot it a mile away.

It appears that the official spin outlets are following their same old formula.

Ho Hum

For winning the Natty give every Dawg a bone AND prime rib steak.

Some of that has already started. Some Miami folks are not real happy about some of the fixes that were made prior to Mark Richt. Many that support Miami will not put up with the way Richt ran the program in Athens continuing in South Florida. They will and are demanding improvement right now.

Higher ups in Miami are trying to make it appear that "change" will happen overnight. Those that are fed up with the upper echelons handling of the football program and not making headway . . . . going to be a lot tougher than the "bleeding hearts" that Richt depended on while in Athens.

Will be surprised if Mark Richt makes it the distance of his contract.

Steve, the "spin" in South Florida will be a lot different than it was in Athens. Media in Miami area are a lot different than those that "spin" in Atlanta. Much closer to the New York way of getting to the truth.

Miami folks want more and are expecting more . . . . soon.
