yankeedawg1, occasionally I go back and watch tape/videos, find that I pick up on things I missed first or second time around.
This particular interview of Coach Smart, my opinion Chuck Dowdle did a very good job both in questioning and listening.
Kirby mentions in the video that this is a fresh start, not only for him, the players also. Everyone basically starts over. Coaching change, that is the rule.
Coach Smart talks about mental toughness as well as physical toughness. I buy into what he has to say about that, and believe that most on the team will also.
Looking over the roster that Smart and Company are going to work with, there is a lot of talent. High caliber talent. Not going to say as many have done in the past (not on Dawgs.com) and predict a lights out season. But, not going to say that when we line up on Saturdays that we can't beat anyone on our schedule.
When I look closely at our 2016 Schedule, I see some good football teams. Opening with North Carolina, don't expect that to be a pushover, that team improved a lot under their new coaching staff.
Another reason to build a fence around the State of Georgia. The high school players in North Carolina are going to start staying home. Of course the big draw for all teams in the SEC is the way the game is played in the SEC. Players from all over the Country want to be recruited by SEC Universities. The SEC conference is "proven", backed by statistics.
Already we see where Smart and Company are recruiting several years down the road. Saban and Company have been doing that since Saban's arrival in Tuscaloosa.
This could be a "beginning" in Athens that has "never" been done before. For sure some of us that are long in the tooth have not been as excited about change in UGA Football as we are now. That dates back several years.
So, when watching the video below, maybe some of you will feel some of the excitement that I feel.
