Getting To Know Offensive Coordinator Jim Chaney

Think most of us are beginning to get a feel for the direction Head Coach Kirby Smart is unveiling in Athens.

Going to look as closely as I can this time around with Offensive Coordinator Jim Chaney. Plan to do the same with other new hires such as Offensive Line Coach Sam Pittman.

Dawgs.com can step out a bit further and maybe come closer to what is to be expected from Head Coach Kirby Smart's staff through this site. Much of what is posted from the local media outlets appears as they want it to appear. Rather hear it from the coach himself.

First off the hiring of Coach Jim Chaney. My opinion, Head Coach Kirby Smart is stepping out, has great confidence in what he is doing putting his staff together.

Chaney is a man that has been around football longer than many that try to report how and why he coaches a certain way. Chaney in my opinion is a "old school" coach that is open to "new ideas". He does not have a closed mind and that is easily proven when looking at his history. Knows every facet of offensive football, that includes every formation that is known by all of us.

Chaney is not a "yes man" and I believe that is another reason that Smart was quick to hire him. Looking for results and Kirby Smart understands "results".

Going to have more to say about Coach Jim Chaney. Watching the video below, got some answers that come from doing "research", not going on what the beat writers and media talking heads have to say.

In the video below, notice the difference in the questions asked of Chaney by the Pitt beat writers. Much different that what I hear from the locals sitting comfortably in Butts-Mehre.

Coach Jim Chaney is a "communicator". Welcome Coach Chaney.

You folks surely have some thoughts . . . .

Bret Bielema having a lot to say about Sam Pittman leaving Arkansas.

Do not like his tactics, more and more the real POS Bret Bielema trying to put others down, in this case Sam Pittman, our offensive line coach.

Bielema chirping about Pittman letting his players down.

Same Bielema that left "his players" in Wisconsin to take the job at Arkansas. Little bit of the kettle calling the pot black.

Same Bielema that sounded off when urban meyer told him to run his program the way he wants to. urban said he would do the same with OSU. Bielema did not like the fact that urban meyer was recruiting players that were already committed to Wisconsin. Time to grow the hell up BB.

Appears to me that Sam Pittman would rather work with Jim Chaney than Bret Bielema.

Welcome to both Jim Chaney and Sam Pittman. These two working together again, think that Kirby Smart is playing "no holds barred" and I like it. Cry me a river Bielema. You go Kirby Smart.

Offensive side of the ball looking better than it has in at least . . . . 15 years.

I like the running back coach, Thomas Brown, like the talent that is already in Athens and those committed to sign LOI's in February.

Appears to be a players coach. One that is straight forward and you'll know where you stand. Didn't do a lot of dancing around the question and seam to hold himself to a high standard. Really excited to see the O next year.

DAWGtm, for sure you are another member here that has wanted the offensive line to be "recognized" as a part of Georgia football.

Unless the bottom falls out, in agreement with you, these two coaches are not dancing around. Serious players appreciate that.

Will be interesting to see what transpires with offensive linemen also liking these hires.

Go Dawgs, serious help is on the way . . . . Get well Nick Chubb, see a lot of holes between the tackles that you and Sony Michel and others will run through in 2016. :)

Me thinks Bret is sweating Stones....he knew what he had

In Coach Pittman...now he has to find a replacement

Who will be as good a fit as Sam was...

Hogs in a world of hurt in the SEC west if the OL

Goes backwards.....love to see him pout and pucker

Chubby ball sack without the wins and NC's

Kirby placed one where the sun don't shine. Love it
Go Dawgs
