That's a pipe dream on SC's part. Kirby is going to UGA. SC's courting of Kirby stopped the moment Richt was fired. Kirby has been on a course with destiny at UGA. Further, I honestly don't think McGarity would have pulled the trigger on Richt's dismissal if it weren't all but a given that CKS was coming to Athens.

This played out by the fact that it took all of one single day for UGA to announce Kirby's acceptance.

Let me say this, and I preface my statement by saying I have positively ZERO insight into any "inside info" from Butts-Mehre, but my guess is that private inquiries into Kirby's interest in coming to Athens probably started after the Alabama or Tennessee loss. Much like it was revealed today that Richt was contacted by Miami in October to gauge his interest in coming back to UM.

Lot of things up in the air now. Much of it will sort itself out by mid January. Whatever shakes out, welcome back CKS. Good luck CMR.

Makes sense in that the Gamecock fans want someone with some fire in their belly. Muschamp got a double dose while at the table.

Like him or not, there will be another head coach that will make the SEC East a tougher out.

Did not want him to come to Athens, think most on this board have said that. Makes me dislike South Carolina even more.

Going to be some serious recruiting wars in 2016 and years after that.
