Good Morning All,

Been a enjoyable week here in Athens. Heads have gone wild and having fits now that Assburn flopped. Hanging Gus out to for not being able to pick the right QB.

IMO the Gus Bus has more problems than QB….Gus bus has a serious engine knock…. Ballsack has switched QB after our game….heads don’t thinks HBC can get it fixed this year….changing songs..Sandstorm has blown itself out…

Game Day Friday #4……another paid practice…. Don’t think we will see playbook opened very far…vanilla all around….good time to work on kick coverage…. CMR covered it… play 9 new pups on KO and it becomes a fire drill…. Risk of injury goes up on KO and he was playing it safe with such a large lead…. Two sided sword…. We didn’t get burned and was able to get game experience for pups…..yes it could have been a momentum changer but I think we knew we could do anything we wanted on offense…..and our defense was getting better with each series…so time was right….

Nuts and Bolts……we win….score is anything we want it to be…again take care of our business quickly and with passion…please

DWS same tune….no injuries……good game to get KM and AJ some touches……

From the Back of the Food Truck……

Get to Monday with a win and then chatter up for the Tide…. Lame is the center of a controversy again….everything from having fight with CNS or the HC job at Illinois….rumors of infidelity in the mix also…mostly rumors but memories of the mess left in Knoxville..stay tuned

Noon…KO……so brunch starts the tailgating ….. long afternoon and evening of football…. Hard to believe 25% of the regular season in the books…eight month to here then it goes at warp speed…..

Pause to give thanks

Have a great weekend and a safe week

As always “Go Dawgs”

Go Dawgs!

yankeedawg1, have thought about the 2015 Season maybe more than I have some recent years.

Read and watched in a couple of places where Mark Richt seemed to be going through a huge change. Believe that Richt knew soon after the grantham hiring that "things" were not right in Athens.

After a face off in Nashville with their head coach and our defensive coordinator, appeared that many were happy (including myself) that we finally had found some coaching backbone defensively.

We had that backbone when Richt first came to Athens, BVG. Tough guy, quick to let everyone know that he believed in being tough and making sure his players understood that.

To me it was a welcome relief to see Willie Martinez leave and grantham come on board. Thought we had finally realized our mistake in hiring friends.

Not too long after grantham's arrival it became noticeable that there was an under current. It could be seen, but it was not talked about, openly.

Takes me to this. We hired a young tough coach that was straight up, pulled no punches and had enough of a background in the SEC to "teach" these young pups both toughness, reliability to team play, leave the "self stuff" at the door. Period.

I say the above for this reason . . . . Mark Richt is as loose as I have seen him since the turmoil that surrounded our program through the various coaches that he had hired to be on his staff. I know that he was led in the right direction by coaches that understood the "missing gap" in our program. Never too old to gain new and improved experience.

Often it has been mentioned on this board that Mark Richt needed to step aside and do what he does best. I believe that Mark Richt has done that. If not, soon we will be able to judge for ourselves, it will not come from the talking heads.

I believe that Gus Malzahn has found himself in a situation that Mark Richt was in for a long period. Difference between the two head coaches is . . . . Mark Richt does not like releasing players or coaches. Gus Malzahn will step on anyone that gets in his way. Richt will come down on himself, Malzahn will not.

Auburn is in a larger mess than their fans really understand. Not a doubt in my mind that Gus Malzahn is a hot head, that applies times 2 when referring to Will Muschamp. Neither of the two appreciate what has been given or offered to them.

Stop with this. I like seeing Richt loose and smiling. I also stick to what I have said about Mark Richt as a head coach. Do what you do best, leave the coaching up to those that are better coaches on the field than you are. That is said because I believe it to be the absolute truth, backed by FACT.

Go Dawgs, Coach'em Up!

yankeedawg1, tomorrow I will watch the Specail Teams closely.

Understand that coach is trying to keep everyone healthy, but we really need to button up this thing called "Special Teams".

Next game against Alabama, not for a minute do I doubt that Special Team(s) play could be the deciding factor.

Special Teams not any different that offense or defense when it comes to "how to". Staying in lanes means so much whether receiving or kicking or punting.

At the end of the 2015 Season would not be surprised to look back and say that our winning or losing came down to Special Team(s) play.

I really like seeing the football either going through the end zone on kickoffs or having enough height on the kick to allow our players a good running shot at making contact with the player fielding the ball.

Tomorrow's game we will be able to see if our coaches have corrected some of the mistakes made against South Carolina.

Question, not sure about whether or not Rodrigo Blankenship is going to be redshirted, think that Richt has said he is changing his thinking on redshirts. More than likely a redshirt. Like filling the hopper. Another step forward.

In the video below, Blankenship kicks a 68 yard field goal in high school. Looking at the American Flag, can see there is a good tail wind. Still, a 68 yard kick with or without the wind is impressive.
