From Athens- Friday Thoughs

It was another busy news week here in the Classic City for our football team.

This week’s Blue Plate Special: 30plus - Sweet T – NPCR

Our IPF will cost 30 million plus.

When first announced we were looking at 12 to 15 mill and the site was near the softball/soccer complex a good ways off campus.

Our Prez. Moorehead steps up and opens the vault and hands out the jingle to make peace with the coaching staff.

IMO we now have a face (Moorehead) who speaks for the Row and the folks at M & M that includes IMG.

FF to this week’s announcement Prez and AD say we now have the IPF costing 30plus and growing. From no frills to the crown jewel of college football. Vault door opens a bit further.

My money says it will have a NFL flavor and mega wow factor.

I would not be surprised to see the entire football operation move from the BM to this new facility.

Stay tuned…our new Dawg House will be the bomb for sure.

No but the money flow will increase without any question.

This is a move to catch Texas as the leading college FBE

This is an investment which calls for a return, which will happen.

Thomas Brown returns to our staff

This will prove to be a great hire. While CTBall was a good coach as it has been noted lacked in recruiting ability.

CTBrown has already gone to work flipping his 4 **** Badger RB commit from NC to follow him to UGA .

Do not be surprised if he does not pull a corn fed OL from the Midwest to come south and open lanes for our RB.

Big uglies who like to play in 30F weather…..mean and meaner

While at Marshall CTBrown had success in the Atlanta area. With him teaming with CTR I expect us to do much better keeping folks in state.

Put this with CRS southwest contacts and I feel we will see more OL heading to Athens in 2016. A very good thing.

Back from a bit of business travelling to the city of Jackson, Mississippi. It's good to get
home and have the time to get caught up.

If you're ever there, drive up to Foundren which is only about 3 miles north from downtown and hit the "Pig and a Pint". 200 beers and 3 kinds of BBQ.. in an small old joint not much bigger than your own great room, in Jackson, MS... what can go wrong there?

Answer to that question is "nothing".

Would like nothing more than for the above to be true.

Thing that sticks in my mind is that Adams and Morehead are great friends. Morehead is probably the President of our university first off because he deserved it. No doubt in my mind that Adams played a huge part in making that happen.

Adams did not mind spending money, as long as it benefited him in some way.

If Morehead lets McGarity know where his place is in decision making, that is a good thing. Along with that, Morehead also known as a person that really likes the football team, needs to shoulder responsibilities in the governing process. That is his job. He can be blamed along with others for the conditions in Sanford Stadium that Bill King published.

Said in another thread when the subject was the IPF being built, money spent and the one person that definitely does not hang out on Mahogany Row responsible for all of the chatter about the IPF, Jeremy Pruitt. Not Mark Richt, Greg McGarity or Jere Morehead . . . . Jeremy Pruitt.

Learned a long time ago, improvement does not always come from the top down. Most of the time, the reverse is true.
