Not always a bad thing.

Maybe some are realizing they actually have to beat somebody out to win a position!! If they don't like competition.....leave!!

Results of building depth.

Have tried to refrain from saying this but . . . . If we look close enough, Jeremy Pruitt is on a mission. Up to this point, he has not had the players "he" wants for "his" defense.

Reggie Wilkerson was faced with the following, and there are a lot of committed players coming to Athens that Pruitt has worked hard to get. While it might sound bad, it is what it is.

Below is what happened in 2013.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
University of Georgia freshman defensive back Reggie Wilkerson underwent a procedure to repair his meniscus in his right knee on Friday at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens.
Wilkerson, a native of Ocala, Fla., sustained the injury to his knee in one of the Bulldogs’ voluntary pass drills with his teammates earlier this week. He will undergo a second surgical procedure at a later date to reconstruct his ACL.
wlayton, I am one of those that believes Jeremy Pruitt will sign quality defensive players.
Does Pruitt know what he is doing? Comes down to who is asked.
Only fair when anyone that is assigned to a certain task, does it their way. Pruitt will do that.
Back in the day, VD had problems with Erk. Fact. Why? Well check the moves, whether involuntarily or planned that Erk made.
Anyone ever hear the term "Junkyard Dawg"? Those that still think that VD was all that, he would not have survived as long as he did had the internet been around. VD was a head coach that wanted and actually demanded things be done his way. Erk did not play that silly game. I feel that we have another head coach that thinks and acts along the same way that VD did.
Something to be said for Pruitt and his backbone. Not out to change his way of doing things, will probably end his time in Athens and that will be that.
Head coach get out of Pruitt/Rocker and the rest of the defensive coaches way, you might get a lot of "pats on the back" with the results of their work. All about the head coach and athletic director, just works out like that.
Erk, had backbone and he left many of us with a feeling of pride in what he accomplished and the many thoughts that remain with us. Our numbers get smaller with age, but the memories of a "football coach" cannot be removed.
Again, plain and simple . . . . leave the defense alone, that is a part of football that you as our head coach do not understand the depths of, those that were hired, DO.
