Good Morning All,

My Grandmother would set a big bowl of oatmeal in front of me when

I was a young boy and say eat it all gone

She would ask you want to grow up big and strong?

That how I see this week’s game with NT as a big bowl of oatmeal

We need to make it disappear and grow up on defense

Yes it amounts to a paid practice for us which is an excellent reason

for us to go out and take full advantage of every snap

I want the defense to make plays and get to feel like they have a better

understanding of what their responsibilities are

Take the fourth down goal line stop against the Chickens and build on
it with each play

When they walk of the field Saturday afternoon I want them to carry

that good feeling into practice next week and use it in getting ready for

LSwho- you play like you practice-success builds success-ask CNS

As wlayton and others have voiced here there is no question we are

loaded with talent on defense

It is the lack of experience at this level that is the big issue

I have an idea we will see progress that we are looking for this Saturday

Pause and give thanks

Have great weekend and a safe week

As always “Go Dawgs”

Go Dawgs!

Want to mention Ron Couson. Man has meant so much to Georgia football. Guarantee that the young men wearing the Red and Black know Ron's value to the program.

Watched the video on Corey Moore, gets the juices flowing. I believe that Corey has taken that final step and is going to pay dividends to his/our team this season.

Good "stuff" yankeedawg1. :)

My weekly "thank you" yd1.....

If our D can't show up better in this game, with much improvement, we may be in trouble going forward. I realize there is talent and are young etc etc etc but time is one thing that is no longer on our side.

AM and gang had better keep their machine oiled and finely tuned.

Do believe we will get better but I personally am concerned about the defensive side of the ball.....and not totally convinced with CTG anymore. While I like his attitude, aggressiveness and knowledge, I also feel he may over coach these kids and creates confusion on the field. Seniors should handle it (although the experienced guys looked confused alot last year), but imo, maybe CTG should "dumb it down" a little with a little more "base" D....confusion leads to BIG plays....again just my opinion.

Regardless yd1, will salute you Sat as always!! Have a great weekend everyone. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Good post and thoughts wlayton. Mispelled Courson above, things like that bug me. Tomorrow should provide surprises and certain expectations. Have been spying on LSU, they know playing Georgia between the Hedges, and all agree, better have headgear buttoned down.

wlayton, went away for a while, looking at some things elsewhere. Could not get the Grantham "thingy" out of my mind.

At some point, even those that hold the coaching positions have to look closely at where they are at. Both with themselves and the players that they coach.

NFL is if we get technical, a passing league. More and more the college game is going there, has been for some time.

Grantham "knows" his system well. Been at it for a long time. Don't take this wrong, but . . . . He was the Defensive Coordinator for the Cleveland Browns. Understandable that Cleveland has had and seems to continue to have problems. Believe that Belichick was dismissed from Cleveland, and we know the outcome of that hiring and firing.

Grantham went on to be hired by Jerry Jones to coach his defensive line. My guess is this . . . . only a guess, of course. Something was not working, so Grantham landed in Athens. Made me very happy, felt that if any change was needed in Athens, it was for Wille and a couple of others to depart.

This is what brought me back to this. You are right about a coach moving off center and falling back to what it is that his playing group can and will respond to.

These young men have at best four years in Athens, of which they will probably not play the entire four years. Can give names of players now on the defensive side that have not played. Reason? Can't play FAST. What does that mean? There are some that take longer for the light to go on than others. That is not bereating the player, as has been mentioned in another thread that I posted in . . . . young pups also have academics to prepare for, their plates are full. Don't make the grades, don't play on Saturday.

At this point what I think I see is this . . . . coach wants the players to come to him, maybe it should be the other way around. Grantham set a time for getting "his side" rocking and rolling when he came on board. Time is not in his favor at this point, he has some adjusting to do. If I read your post right, believe that is the long and short of Grantham's time in Athens. Adjusting to college football and the run game.

This is not meant to be an ugly post, it is as many are now saying . . . . Just my opinion. Yes, I am guilty of that.

Like I said above, could not get your post out of my grayyyiiinnng matter.
