              Good Morning All,

As many here have said and I agree welcome Toby J.

His comment about liking CCW when he was at MSU and his plans for him made it a clear choice for him to pick Georgia.

Well done CCW. Just a gut feeling but I see some awful goods signs from CCW in the short time he been in Athens.

My two cents on the 4-3 or 3-4 to me it comes down to players making plays.

At times our “DL” took plays off the lack of discipline and playing me ball showed up all too often.
Buc, you called out JJ which IMO you were correct. CW also was non-factor for most of the year.

JJ’s play or lack of was highlighted by KG’s improvement.

Looking back I think CRG’s mind was else were last year. I think he came to grip with knowing it was
time to move on.

I can remember when CTG was hired CRG making a statement about not having a great deal of experience with the 3-4 and he was going to have to learn just like the players.

This to me was a tip that there may be comfort zone issues brewing.

That was the past and now it is on to the present and future.

Just to touch on a positive from this past season.

We were as good as anybody at making half time adjustments. Buc, it struck me that this just might be an example of your coach’m up challenge.

Coaches seeing and making needed changes -players following instructions to execute.

Cold and wet for Athens this weekend.Georgia and I will spend time by the fire. Crank up the kindle and kickback.

Wife is making sounds about me making a kettle of veggie soup. Sounds like a plan.

Pause and give thanks, Easter and the promise it holds will be here soon.

Have a great weekend- and a safe week.

As always “Go Dawgs”

Good morning yankeedawg1. Couple of lines before I head out to the VA.

Seems you and I are on the same wave length often these days. For instance the subject of Garner mentioned by you above. I had looked for your "Blue Plate Special" and remembering you were retired, went to the site below.

All of us have opinions about what if . . . . Never have said that Garner was not a big part of our success, definitely was. However, in my opinion, he was at a point in time where he felt that any upward movement under Mark Richt was in the tea leaves.

I do not like the manner in which he left, but going to try and let that happening remove itself from my memory. Choices made, time for all to get ready for SEC football. Will there be improvement in the Auburn football fortunes, had better be, can't be much worse. No place to go except up.

I remember this quote you posted above rather clearly. Some folks don't like change, and there was definitely change when Todd Grantham chose Athens.

I despise articles like that. Why Richt shouldn't have let him go?

Um...... sometimes people.just.go. and there's not a thing you can do about it. You can't all of a sudden make UGA be Garner's alma mater.... you don't have limitless funds to offer people to entice them to stay either. The writer here doesn't acknowledge maybe Garner wasn't the best fit for the 3-4... it's only about the recruiting side...

Oh and one more thing the author there fails to even consider:
Maybe CMR didn't just stand around saying "oh gosh darnit I sure do wish Garner would stay". Maybe he thought about the situation and came to he conclusion that it was in the best interest of all parties involved, including UGA. What it wold have taken to keep him.... incompatibility between CTG and RG... not feeling super comfortable with the 3-4... line that underperformed within that scheme... maybe it was just time.

I said here when it first happened. With long tenured employees people think he sky is falling if they leave.

Guess what... it's not.

yd1, as usual, thanks for the pre-weekend post......boy do I envy you and Buc being retired, I may hang it up in 3 years but I'll see, have a pretty good gig here with my brother as my partner etc

Adjustments....you are so right that this past year the were many great adjustments made at halftime.....for me, the operative word is "many".....would like to see the pre-game gameplan be a little more effective, take a big lead and make the opponent scramble for adjustments.

BUT.....in the past there WERE no adjustments to speak of so I'm excited/grateful we now have a solid coaching staff that can adjust "on the fly".

Easter.....the Good Lord and the Masters....doesn't get any better than that, huh?

All have a great weekend and a cool one for you as always.

growl, too bad you are not visiting Florida now . . . . 82 degrees and sunshine, light breeze. Sorry yd1, however down this way we often pray for rain, water drains through sand quickly.
