I too have seen Richt and Bobo change this year. And believe and hoping, they will keep this new fire in their belly and not go back to their old ways of play calling and decision making! And CTG has got this 3-4 D working pretty damn good lately also!!!B)

GO DAWGS!!!

He was very chippy. Even though he was winning 28-3, he seem to have a Saban moment. I am paraphrasing, but he stated that the defense needed to win first down. He then was fairly short with the reporter when she mentioned reminding the team of the 2008 GT game, when GT came back in the second half...

There definitely seems to be an edge to CMR...

The Dawgs are playing with edge. We knew we would give up yards the last two weeks, but we kept them out of the end zone.

I feel we will win this week! Can't put a score on it yet, but I do see a difference at UGA!

GO DAWGS!!

WoodstockDawg, think that some of the change came after the Vandy game 2011, after the blow up between Grantham and Franklin. Richt was a bit unsettled, and we all heard how Todd Grantham had to tone his actions down, coming from the higher ups.

Of course the Vandy thingy happened after Grantham had given the gator kicker the "choke sign". Not only did that aggravate the players, pp'd many of the UGA fan base off when CTG was called on the carpet. The Bulldawg Nation needed someone close to the program to show some emotion, not all coaches can or will do that. Grantham will and did at a time when it was needed.

After that the players to a man knew that Todd Grantham was one of them, not just a coordinator. Offensive and Defensive sides of the ball both had folks step up and say in so many words without saying it . . . . it was time for this to happen.

In my opinion that led to one of our DB's stepping up and saying a few things. Watched Mark Richt after the statement was made and questions were asked by the media thinking they would get some more of the same from Richt. Richt did not do that, he let it go, said he had a talk with the player the next morning or day, he never said that he was against what was said. Had a "smile" on his face at one point. That is not the same Mark Richt that I have watched over the past five or so years. I like this Mark Richt more than the first edition.

Game with Alabama has not been played yet, however I don't feel this group of coaches and players feel the least bit intimidated. Eleven men on each team facing each other, many things come into play as to what the players on both sides will do on Saturday. Joint will be rocking.

Say it again, have said it several times this season. I really wanted us to play Alabama this year. How better to judge where our program is at this point in time. Alabama is in the top two or three in the nation when it comes to recruiting every year. Although they have been able to sign more 5 star athletes than us over the past few years, those players that we have representing the University of Georgia suit me just fine, thank you. :)

Great, great posts and thread.

Definitely a difference in the coaching staff......edgy, focused and believe they realize that an opportunity like this doesn't come around that often.

Sat will tell us where we are.

BTW......speaking of past BASHING's.......did ya'll see where Bobo was a nominee for the Broyles Award that honors the top assistant coach in the nation?.......hmmmmm......change?....think so. When I saw that I immediately thought of AD5 and his evaluation of the play calling.

Did see that wlayton. sadlerdawg mentioned seeing a change in tactics by Mike Bobo. Have my fingers crossed for a couple of young men out there that have not made a choice of universities yet. Offense has a lot of returning players, going to take a big hit on the defensive side. Next man up. :)

I think several people have noticed the change in play calling on offense. In fact, many of his "new" plays were specifically suggested by members on this board for several years.

Guess Mike Bobo is smarter than some of us gave him credit for.
