Is Bobby Petrino back in the SEC at either Kentucky or Auubrn? Its possible he could get a chance at either of these schools, dont you think, and what would the ramifications be for hiring him?

Don't know what any ramifications would be but AU obviously wouldn't care.....they only want to win football games.

Kentucky has said they don't want any part of him. Auburn, on the other hand, who knows?

Some are wise and some are otherwise !

Football talk.

Auburn wanted Petrino prior to the Atlanta Falcons hiring him. Some wires got crossed and that was the outcome of Petrino landing in Atlanta. His first flight though landed in Alabama on his way to the Auburn area.

Petrino found out quickly that the NFL is not in any way a mirror image of college football. Add this little diddy also . . . . Nick Saban learned the same lesson while in the NFL.

Some folks that I know are mentioning the above statement about Saban and Petrino. We know what Saban has accomplished again in college football, not the first time, seem to remember LSU and other stops. We also know that Auburn loves football and sometimes that leads those in power to look at where Petrino took Arkansas in his brief stay.

I also believe that Petrino would love to return to the SEC and quite frankly go head to head with Saban. Whether we like Petrino or not, the man is a college football coach, has the credentials.

growl, don't know who will step out and hire Petrino, but I would bet the farm that the offers are already on the table from several different conferences.

Anyone that believes that Chizik is going to remain as head coach have different thoughts than I do. If UGA hands it to AU this Saturday, and I hope we do, it will be the end of Chizik's stay at AU. They still have to lock horns with Alabama, guarantee you that Alabama will pile it on if the situation presents itself.

Agreed that if Chizik gets stomped by the Dawgs the AU faithful will run him out of town on a rail. I can see Patrino in Auburn but.... given his predisposition to being a jerk I don't see him there long before he does something stupid and gets fired or packs up in the middle of the night to something better.

Go Dawgs!!!!

Can't disagree with your thoughts Getdown 11. Appears that Petrino makes better decisions on the football field than in his personal life.

Also have noticed that Auburn has hired a security group to enforce bed checks off campus, and maybe on campus, not sure about on campus. Chizik not willing to give any details at this point, but article that I read mentioned some of the players living off campus not being happy with the bed checks. Not a good sign for the football program and its leader.

It was mentioned in another thread, feel that it would be ok to repeat the statement. Chizik running on the field when AM was laying on the turf, visibly hurt and giving high fives to the players. Makes me wonder if he is still chasing recruits in the white limo. Also understand that Pat Dye stands by Chizik, thinks he should be retained.

Coaching is a tough business these days, whether pro or college or high school or pee wee. Times have certainly changed.

Go Dawgs . . . . Coach'em up! :)
