From Athens - Bye Week Friday

Good Morning All,

Like myself many on this board have gone back and reviewed the past and how it has brought to this point.

Once again being teased to think that progress and change had taken place with our coaches and team only to find out that this was but another empty promise.

I was so willing to make excuses why we had such trouble with Buffalo in our first game, then the rebound of beating Mizzo on the road. We were back!

Then back home to watch FAU run all over us another clue that the future was not going to go well.

It was dumb luck that we didn’t take a “L” from UT.

Since our butt kicking Mac has been lying in the weeds and he has not spoken out with any type of endorsement for CMR.

We won’t know until the season ends what if any meaning that has.

For our football team -The bigger the stage, the brighter the lights, the bigger the bust we make.

Adversity comes in all shapes, color ,and sizes.

Our pride is wounded. We as fans feel drained and once again frustrated and mislead.

We need to set all this aside and help one of our players who is dealing with a very ill parent.

AM you have our prayers and get well wishes for your father. You are blessed to have a strong support group to call on.

Judging by your work here in the Athens community you are a good person. May your dad have a speedy and complete recovery

It is good that we can set football aside for two weeks and take a deep breath.

Let’s play out the season, trust in Mac. Don’t be so sure he won’t do anything.

Good morning yd1, thanks again for your Friday post to kickoff the weekend. Deserves a cool one, because I'm sure finding something to say wasn't easy..

Honestly, I'm sitting here trying to think of something to say......have nothing left in the UGA "think tank".

I'll just sit and watch the season......dumbfounded and emotionless at the moment.

I agree, I for one am still shell shocked from last week. It seems to be something that I can not get out of my mind. Kind of hard to find anything good to talk about or to look forward to for me any way.

One thing that I wanted to mention, we talk about the OL alot, and we all that that WF was a savior to teach our OL. For me, it just does not register, we had a seasond oversized line last year, the biggest line in all of college. We still could not block, we still could not pass protect against top teams. I mean this crap with the OL has gone on for the past 5 years. I know CMR does't care about recruting OL, all he wants is 2 or 3 QB's and 2 or 3 RB's. I guess he things he can win games with skill players and the trenches will take care of themselfs.

I wish I could feel CMR, in that he said USC had all the engery, with at home, their fans, excuse after excuse. Would not take the blame for poor coaching and no offensive or defensive game plan. Said we had the same engery against Auburn in our first blackout kind of the same thing he said. I am sorry, but CMR is so full of BS.

So now we go to Ky play a nail bitter with us winning probably in the 4th quarter by a TD or so, then go to Jacksonville for another ass wooping by UF. I wish I had faith that we'd show up, but this is another top 5 team, on probably national TV and we will get embarrased once again.

One other thing, how can they keep making excusses about our D, that with out Rambo and Ogletree, we just has not jelled yet, We still had 7 starters returning if you do not count Rambo and OGletree. I believe USC lost several starters from their unit last year, and they are better. It seems that our coaches love to make excusses rather that fix the problem.

In between this, refusing to take any blame (we're doing fine as coaches), and throwing his
own kids under the bus (we lost because we were physically overpowered).. I just want the
man to stop talking. Every time he opens his mouth, he just makes it worse.

Don't want to hear any excuses about our D either. Blaming a drop from 5th to 55th in the nation in defense on suspended players while playing that punk schedule we started the season with is a joke. Our entire second string shouldn't have fallen that far against
our cupcake schedule.

Looks like some of the young folks that had committed to UGA have taken note of the getting thrown under the bus and have decided to take their chances elsewhere in the last few days.

I saw that also, one was a 4 star DE, deceided to go to South Carolina, I guess he was more impressed with a real D that the bunch of wimps on our team.
