Good Day All,
Below are some words from CW. Yes it sounds like John Wayne’s speech about a man has to do what a man has to do.
However, it makes sense to me coming from someone who has walked the walk and paid his dues.
“There’s a whole lot of distractions,” defensive end Cornelius Washington said.
The senior who dealt with his own two-game suspension after a DUI arrest last season said Saturday that there have been a few meetings among players to talk about what’s gone on, but then took a deep breath and shook his head.
“I don’t know, at the end of the day I look at it like this: a guy is going to do just what a guy wants to do,” Washington said. “A man’s going to do what a man wants to do. You’ve just got to gain their respect enough that they value your opinion and they want to do things the way you ask them to do it.”
The part about gaining respect and listening to the way to do things rings of CTG talents for sure.
My thinking is we have seen a spike in bad behavior but my money says that this will end quickly.
Unless my memory fails me none have been recruited by CTG.
About those choosing to transfer, IMO this is a byproduct of our success on defense.
Those who are marginal players and who want to play understand the pecking order and wish to ply their talent elsewere to get PT.
I understand and respect that and I wish them well and much success.
Easter to me is the promise made at Christmas coming to pass.
