Florida senior quarterback John Brantley is off crutches and out of his protective boot, but won't practice this week, coach Will Muschamp said.
Brantley suffered a high right ankle sprain late in the first half against Alabama and has missed the past two games, losses to LSU and Auburn.
True freshman Jacoby Brissett and Jeff Driskel will split the reps at practice this week. The Gators are on a bye week and play No. 24 Georgia on Oct. 29 in Jacksonville.
Also expected back for the Georgia game are defensive end Ronald Powell (reported as a neck injury), running back Jeff Demps (ankle) and kicker Caleb Sturgis (leg), said Muschamp, who spoke at the Jacksonville Quarterback Club on Monday.
END OF STORY
I read a quote stating Muschamp is "hopeful" to have Brantley back for the WLOCP-i'm sure he is! I noticed something about UF being the most penalized team in the SEC, hopefully that trend will continue on 10/29. For me, it's really hard to get a true reading on how good/bad the Gators are this year. I mean, Bama & LSU will make ANY team look pathetic & against Auburn, they played w/o so many players. All I know is no matter what, WE MUST BEAT FLORIDA!!!
We'll see what wlayton can find out about Brantley's status. Speaking of injuries, anybody know how hurt is DeAngelo Tyson? Are we expected to be at full strength by 10/29 (including Alec Ogletree)?
