A lot of guys like him got burnt out on football in the Valdosta system.....it was a year around thing under Bazemore......remember working with a young man who played for the Cats and had a full ride to Auburn and turned it down because he was "burnt out" under Nick Hyder.....just did not want to play the game anymore......

Yeah, you're right. I remember a star RB for Valdosta that went to GT. After he scored a TD in one of GT's games, a report asked him how he felt about scoring his 1st college TD for Georgia Tech?........the RB from Dosta (can't remember his name) said, "it was ok but NOTHING like scoring a TD for the Valdosta Wildcats!!!!

After playing for Bazemore and Valdosta, anything else was a step DOWN. As you know, kids growing up in Valdosta LIVE for the chance to play football for VHS.
