Okay, so for baseball fans like me, you've got to be discouraged. I know there are more than three games in a season, but the way our Diamond Dawgs lost their first game of the year against defending national champs Oregon State is frightening. Up 6-2 in the 7th, the Dawgs lost 10-8. More discouraging, our all-world closer, Joshua Fields, is the one credited with the loss, giving up the lead in the 9th. The Beavers went on to sweep us at Foley Field.
This doesn't bode well. Our next game is on Weds. against Mercer, which should be an easy win. But South Carolina is really good this year, Kentucky and Alabama are the defending SEC co-champs, Clemson always gives us fits...let's face it, the SEC is stacked. Is anyone else concerned like me? Or am I the only one paying attention to Georgia baseball? Your comments -- and hopefully your reassurances -- are VERY welcome.
