Good Morning All,

Some quick bytes from campus. The rash of injuries has been from the level of hitting going on in practice. CMR and CTG have setup a scoring system for keeping score on practice drills. Net results are no player on “O” or “D” wants to lose anything. CMR is running practice and scrimmages at game level hitting. Less the green no contact jersey players.

Having said this a complete review of warm up and stretching routines are being conducted to see if anything needs to be revised. CJT has spoke about not only being strong but the need to be flexible as well.

This will be the first year with CMR having his way with a draft system for the Red and Black – G- game. Just like a sandlot game picking sides.

It will make for a very interesting level of competition between both teams.

There has be much “Smack” talk going on in jest. I think this is a great way to build team unity.

Buc, I am glad you picked up on how low key the coach speak has been this spring. Me thinks that this is Mac and his talk less and win more attitude.

This has carried over to the players also. They understand they need to show what they can do on the field, as that is the only way to change the conversation.

I also agree that CMR has changed, he understands what Mack’s expectations are and knows what is at risk.

I remember the Kingston Trio’s song – It takes a worried man to sing a worried song, well CMR knows the same dance won’t work in 2011.

To his credit starting with the recruiting class this year we have seen visible changes and improvements within the program. I truly expect that these and future changes before our first game will prevent a repeat of last years debacle.

After the G- game Saturday we have to wait for 20 Saturdays to pass before our home game in Atlanta at the dome. Which we will win !

This season is different to me as there is no team in the SEC that scares me like last year. Respect yes fear no. Gone is Cam and so is Fairless. I don’t think USC can put up the same numbers they did last year. Nobody will be surprised on how good ML is, and what they have in their running game.

Auburn was the only team last year that had as good or better talent as we had. It wasn’t that they competition was that much better than us we just stunk it up. No excuses that have not been covered in great detail for the past six months.

Stay healthy, and be coached up there is no reason we can’t be back in the dome come December. I expect it!

It has been a most enjoyable quite spring around our football program. Bravo Zulu to all that had a part in making that happen.

Enjoy the G- game, savor the moment as we will have to make it last.

We are blessed, pause and give thanks.

Have a great weekend and a safe week. As always “Go Dawgs”

Go Dawgs!

yankeedawg1, there seems to be a lot of conversation going around about if we win the first two games, could prove to be interesting.

If our best talent is on the field come fall, and they have a tank full of gas in the fourth quarter, no reason not to have a very successful season. If we had been in condition last season, who knows what the outcome might have been, along with what appears to be a change in the mindset of the players. Maybe not a good analogy, however, can't let the prisoners run the prison. It was time for the coach or coaches to stick their chins out and take the program back.

Know you will be in the stadium tomorrow. Understand that there will be folks there presenting the opportunity for a contribution toward aiding Jonathan Taylor. Sad. Life and circumstance, very unpredictable. DGD.

Thanks for the report yd1, keep a keen eye on the happenings at Sanford, will be looking forward to your observations.

Go Dawgs . . . coach'em up!! :)

yd1, I sure hope the comments about the play calling is CMR's way of saying we'll use Bobo's playbook for G-day and mine for Boise.

If I see another play action pass with 10-15 yard routes being run on 3rd and short this coming season I might be inclined to run out to the field and beat Bobo over the head with his laminated play sheet!
