Good Morning All,

To all my fellow posters who live in the Sunshine state a large thank you. I enjoyed your weather last weekend in GCS/Jacksonville area. It was mid 80’s on Saturday and the shrimp were outstanding! Cold beer wasn’t all that bad either.

Arriving back home on Sunday to a lovely 52. We will get back to the 80’s and sun this weekend. My tractor has been tuned and ready for the “Weed Eater” 500 on Saturday. One off the honey do list!!

Georgia had an attitude after picking her up from the boarding kennel she wanted no part of a milk bone nothing short of a piece of Zaxby’s chicken would return me to her good grace which I took care of with a great deal of haste.

March is history and we are still quite on campus, just may have something to do with our new AD. Good job Mack!

Has anybody noticed how many times in the last several months CJT name has come up?

A week does not go by that another player is not speaking out how much bigger and stronger they are. Having less body fat and more stamina. Yes we will need to see how this all plays out of the field. We asked for visible changes with our football team and this was a great place to start. As noted by wlayton -CJT has no off time with the players he is Father Joe -24/7 all year long, a very good thing!

Sadly I have come to the conclusion that the following will happen this season.

AM will have twice as many Int’s than TD’s
We will not have a running back gain more than 100 yds in any one game
BW will miss more FG’s than he makes, along with 6 missed PAT’s
DB will only avg 20 yrds per punt
Tech will average more in home attendance per game than UGA
The Varisty will start selling tofu burgers with sprouts

Have a safe weekend and a great week. As always “ Go Dawgs”

By the way – Happy April Fools Day!!!!

Go Dawgs!

Good one, YD!

Judging by the article below, from Olin Buchanan at Rivals, some people out there think all of us on this board ARE a bunch of "April Fools" for believing in our team this year:

"If Georgia survives Boise State, South Carolina and Florida next fall (and I truly believe the Bulldogs can beat all three of those teams), looking at the rest of the teams on the schedule, I think Georgia could be in the national championship game. What do you think?
Douglas
Jacksonville

Whoa ... slow down there, Uga.

On the rebound
Since the AP poll was introduced in 1936, here's a list of national champions that had the poorest performances in the previous season.
Year National champion Previous season record
1940 Stanford 1-7-1
1960 Minnesota 2-7-1
1962 USC 4-5-1
1939 Texas A&M 4-4-1
1938 TCU 4-4-2
1958 LSU 5-5
1964 Arkansas 5-5
1980 Georgia 6-5
1981 Clemson 6-5
1972 USC 6-4-1
Georgia finished with a losing record and was in a three-way tie for third place in the SEC last season. Winning the East is a much more reasonable goal.

The last team to win a national championship the year after a losing season was USC in 1962. That's almost 50 years ago. And that was when championships were won by a vote, not by playing another team that's directly vying for a national title.

Still, I admit I thought Auburn would finish no higher than third in the SEC West last season, so I guess anything is possible. But Auburn was coming off an eight-win season in 2009. Georgia managed only six wins and even lost to woeful Colorado.

In addition, Auburn last season was returning the nucleus of a strong team. Georgia is losing its best players from 2010 - wide receiver A.J. Green, linebacker Justin Houston, linebacker Akeem Dent and offensive lineman Clint Boling.

This season, Georgia may rely heavily on freshmen. That wasn't an issue for the Bulldogs in 1980 with Herschel Walker, but can a phenomenon like that be counted on more than once a lifetime?

If Georgia can beat Boise State, South Carolina and Florida (and that's a colossal "if"), the Bulldogs obviously would rank high in the national polls and likely would be favored in their remaining games.

But it cannot be taken for granted that Georgia also would beat Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee or Georgia Tech. And even if Georgia did go unbeaten in the regular season, it still would have to play in the SEC championship game, where Alabama or LSU likely would be looming.

Your optimism is respected, but I cannot share it."

Thoughts anyone? <cringe, cringe>

Having a "True Dawg" visit the Eastside of Florida is an honor. You hit the weather cycle just right yd1, the last couple of days the entire state has had some scary weather.

yd1 you are on the mark with the Coach JT comment. That is a positive sign, especially after the 6-7.

Does my heart good to see so many of the players mentioning Coach JT's name in a positive way. Will always believe that the serious athletes want and respect discipline. Don't remember a single quote about last years leader of S&C. That is not a shot, think that had a lot to do with players attitudes. One young man found out quickly that JT came to rule his area of expertise. Wins start with players believing in the system.

thriller, the personnel seem to be in Athens. How many thought that Green Bay would be Super Bowl Champs? Butler, VCU in the final four. UGA going to the dance.

I stand on this point of football talk this season, offensive line jells, we can be "bad". I worry a bit about some of the players and their injuries of the past.

TGIF, good wishes to all, 4/1/11 enjoy the fun!!

Good post Thriller, I am old enough to remember the "69" Mets. OK so there is the Cubs saga on the other side of the coin. While the NC might be a leap reaching the SEC title game in Atlanta is not. I have said before after the first two games we will have a measure on how far we can go in 2011. My optimism says we will bite some people who don't think much of us at this time.

I just thought it was funny that in his own article, Buchanan pointed out how wrong he was last year. Of all the games we played last year, he also forgot to point out that we were truly IN EVERY SINGLE GAME, and just got some VERY bad breaks at VERY bad times. A healthy, PHYSICALLY FIT team might have changed the outcome of all or nearly all of those games. I think the right changes have been made, and while I would rather have A.J. back, looking at his productivity from last year (he missed four games and we lost some games even after he came back) I think his production can be replaced, even if not by a single receiver.

National Championships are rare for ALL schools. Only one wins each year. But I honestly think this year will mark a huge upswing and giant reversal for the program, in a very nice way.

NC - probably not (this is true every year for every team). Top ten finish? Quite possibly. At least a return to the top 25? I genuinely think so.

Buc, have noted that the weather took a dive for the worst. I looked like there was some heavy rain and winds that went across the state and made a mess. Trust it missed you.

Thriller, AJ was special, but he was just one player to cover/stop. This year we will have a much different passing game IMO better. The name I keep hearing in Michael Bennett, great hands and runs routes a blind man could complete. He will open up OC and TK from double coverage.

Tuesday practice Michael had a 80 plus yard TD on flanker screen. Is it August yet ?

No joke or April fool on this... MB ='s real deal..... Go Dawgs
