Our class.....

I thought we did pretty well until I read the paper today. The media was quick to point out that Tech, in their opinion, beat us out for the first time since the 1990's. Why were we ranked so low? I thought we did pretty well filling the needs we had. What do you guys think?

Well anytime you focus on going after the \"big uglies\" and not the high profile skill positions, I think it takes on the appearance of not having a great class. Plus the fact that UGA was 90% finished with their class in Dec, therefore was in a very low profile position in the last month with not much press coverage. Being ranked 9th with focusing on OL/DL is a pretty good class, in my opinion. Plus we got some good skill players with King, Troup etc AND we also have 8 commitments already for next year (including AJ Green). Filled the needs this year and with previous classes, we'll be very good.

Everything starts with the O and D line so I do not care where they rank us. A great line will make an OK back great. A great D line will make OK corners great. Hell, I don't care if slippery rock has a higher ranking than us as long as we have depth and talent along the lines.

This is all absolutely true. Richt knew enough not to sacrifice recruiting trips or offers on flashy prospects when what we really need is tough bodies up front. You can have Joe McKnight and Caleb King and Logan Grey and Reggie Bush in your backfield, and it won't make a lick of difference if they're not protected. These big boys who've committed aren't going to be ESPN 150 signees. All they're going to do is protect Matthew Stafford and Kregg Lumpkin and Knowshon Moreno. All they're going to do is allow those boys to win games for us. And the D-liners? Well, I'll put it to you this way: You ever had a Tebow pancake?
