Congratulations to the Lady Dawgs. What an intense game, and winning against LSU, just a super effort. Do not remember when I have enjoyed a basketball game more. Both programs, mens and ladies are showing a lot of that Junkyard Dawg spunk. RIP Erk.

Yes and living in Jacksonville, seeing gators ALL the time, it was a real treat reading an article in the paper today about the UF lady gators BB team. They have lost 10 in a row (including a loss to us last weekend), won zero SEC games and their coach is on the hot seat to be fired. FINALLY, UGA is dominating UF in something !!!! GO LadyDawgs !!!

Big ups -- is that how the kids say it? -- to Ashley Houts, my new favorite Lady Dawg now that Sherrill Baker has graduated. Ashley, a true Junkyard Dawg, was contained all night long but stayed tenacious. She only took two shots from the floor and hit one...BUT WHAT A SHOT TO HIT!!! Considering the fact that four of the last five games against LSU have been won by the Tigers by two points or less(the fifth was an eight-point \"blowout\" in Baton Rouge), it's somewhat poetic and VERY comforting to know that we were able to beat them 53-51 on that miraculous last-second jumper.

Anyone who doesn't believe that it was miraculous needs to go watch the tape of the final six seconds of the ballgame. With six left and no timeouts, Houts drove the length of the court, got to the corner inside the three-point line...AND SLIPPED. As she attempted to set and jump to get the shot off, her left foot slid out from under her, nearly going out of bounds. As she struggled to right herself and get the shot off, the clock ran down from 1.1 seconds to 0.1. She was physically BEHIND the backboard when she threw up the shot, with a much taller Lady Tiger throwing up a hand to block; it should be noted at this point that Miss Houts is only 5'6\" tall. If you watch it in slow motion, you can see that the ball leaves her fingertips just before 0.1 clicks over to 0.0. It was truly an amazing experience. The Good Lord loves a tenacious Dawg.

More ups to Tasha Humphrey, the two-time defending SEC player of the week, on a double-double(18 and 12).

Even more ups to freshman Angel Robinson, whose 6 straight unanswered points at the beginning of the second half gave Georgia our first lead of the night.

GO DAWGS!

wlayton, did not realize the game was on, channel surfing and caught the game on Sunshine. Glad that I stayed for the finish. Also, looks as if Stafford is sliding away. Like to get the big names, but I will take the folks that want to attend UGA and play the game. We are going to surprise some folks next year, there are a lot of keepers on this team.

Watch out with your wording there, Buc!

I think Buc means D.J. Stafford out of LaGrange. I dont' think we had TOO much hope of landing that fish anyway.

Buc, correct me if I'm wrong in my assumptions here.
