Herschel Walker Said This Today On ESPN Interview.

14 years 4 months ago #32438 by Buc
The reason I am starting a new thread is because I had the opportunity to listen to HW about a lot of things, including his new fighting skills, but the main subject was UGA Football. This was time wise . . .4:00 p.m. EST, 10/20/2010.

This is what HW had to say about the UGA Football Team. First off, too many good football players leaving the State of Georgia to play elsewhere. Asked why, one of his comments was that UGA is having problems off of the field. He mentioned the arrests as did the host.

The one thing that HW said that really made me listen closely was this . . .

I love Coach Richt he said, but he is the leader and something is wrong with the way these players are acting up. He also said that Coach Richt needs to put an end to this behaviour. Said he did not want to see Coach Richt fired, but he did say it falls on his shoulders. Read from that what you want, HW is as close as one can get to UGA Football. HE KNOWS. MANY OF US KNOW. Get the program right, or feel the wrath of our new AD. Plain and simple.

Know that this board is somewhat divided about Mark Richt, not sure where some of the stuff comes from, both for and against. However, 99% that post here understand that there is a problem. Tired of "coach speak" get the program in gear, play football.

Agree Buc. Think everyone knows my opinion on the coaching situation, but I strongly agree with that. CMR has to find away to bring integrity back to the football program. One thing that I believe will help is player leadership. Believe that is where AM will help out. Not only is the kid a stud player, seems to be a stand up kid. Seems to already possess the demand for respect that the great ones do. Hopefully, the guys will follow his lead.

As you know AD5, I've been in your boat and certainly agree with you about finding a leader among the players. AM certainly looks like he can and will take this team under his wing. He appears to be not only a winner but also believe he has that "it" factor we talk about, to be the team leader.

Also agree that CMR has got to step it up strongly to right this leaking ship. The bucket is in his hands and he had better start bailing.

Good post AllDawgs5. . .

Agree with you about AM (everyone knows my feelings about this guy) he was a leader in Tampa, and he is beginning to do the same thing in Athens. You know the game . . . other players on this Dawg Team know that AM is not a "candy ass". When your QB does things that he does, inspires the rest of the "bad asses". Fact not fiction.

I believe that CTG is the guiding light that this team needed, not excluding Belin, Garner, Lakatos and the rest. CTG said one thing when he first arrived that has stuck with me . . . He is playting not only for SEC Championships, he wants the national thingy. Sound a bit like someone in Alabama that he once coached for?

Probably most have read and looked at the tape below, never hurts to review the tape a second time . . . . right AllDawgs5. Looking for tendencies, right coach.

CTG is the real deal, and he will have a stud step up on the defense to lead, like AM is doing for the offense and overall team. Mark Richt is getting a lot of help from this man, bit different than the last few years when WM has to be releived of his job, then refusing to help out in Shreveport. Friends like WM, who needs enemies . . .

Go Dawgs, Saturday night is going to be WAR. Doubt that and we are in trouble.

Picked this up on the internet . . . . . classic.

The next one arrested should have to get in the cage with Herschel.

I think you might be on to something Buc.  Couple of submissions or knockouts would probably get everyone's attention.
