The Torture Never Stops...

...and neither does the cash flow, apparently. Bobby Petrino just signed a 5-year deal to become the head coach for the Atlanta Falcons. So now all we need is for Rich Rodriguez to coach Louisville, Ty Willingham to coach West Virginia and Jim Mora, Jr. to coach Washington and this merry little hell-a-go-round will be complete.

Seriously...this money thing has gotten out of hand. Anyone notice how warm this winter is? Makes you think...

dapolla, I wish your poll question would have read "What coaching change were you the most happy about". I would have replied, "Glen Mason fired at Minnesota." My memory isn't the best in the world but he was the one that UGA originally hired to replace Ray Goff. I can still remember the press conference (Mason)"I am happy to be the next head coach at the University of Georgia and my daughter is going to be the prettiest southern belle in the state", or something to that effect. I definitely remember the comment about his daughter. Then, he backed out and we wound up with Donnan. NOBODY backs out on a chance to coach between the Hedges. So good riddance Mason, you loser. You had a chance to coach in the SEC and you choose instead to coach at a program that very few even know or care about and then get S-canned by the Golden Showers, I mean Gophers. Sorry about the rant, he may have had other compelling reasons.

wlayton,

Calm down. If Glen Mason had come to Georgia, there would have been no Donnan, meaning no ill-advised recruiting of Quincy Carter, meaning no ill-advised boast that he was going to win the national championship in 2000, meaning no firing of Donnan and hiring of CMR, meaning no 2002, no DJ Shockley and therefore no 2005...should I go on?

Everything happens for a reason. Go Dawgs.

Sorry, that was my rant for '07. I agree, everything happens for a reason and this worked out best. Do you remember why he renegged after accepting the job?

If Florida's defense looks good in tonight's game, then it will be Charlie Strong to Louisville.
