Not sure how many have seen this tribute to Coach Erk Russell. Really a special man and defensive coordinator that some of us had the honor and privilege to watch in Athens. Have said it before, will again, Erk should have been head coach at UGA. Didn't work out that way, however Erk and UGA both prospered later on. Below is a link honoring the man.

For whatever reason, I have the same gut feeling that Coach Grantham will be the first DC since Erk that will end up giving all of us Dawgs a \"second glimpse\" of the many things that Erk brought to UGA.

I really like the recent comments that Coach Grantham has made about UGA and especially Coach Richt. Like Erk, using the word TEAM, not me, my and I. Coach Richt you have made a very wise choice and it will be appreciated by the Dawg Nation for years to come, no doubt in my mind. Strap those helmets on folks, we are in for one heck of a ride . . . .

That choked me up. The world is a less colorful place without Erk in it. I never fail to get inspired when I read \"The Letter.\"

The man was absolutely my hero. I enjoyed hearing from the players that were so close to him. As Scott Woerner said, \"There will never be another...\" I am envious of the young men that got to be coached by him. They are truly a blessed group, and most assuredly better people in life for what they learned from him.
