New Defensive Coaching staff was created by RxCowboy
I haven't been around here much the past few months... been too busy after changing jobs. So, if you don't mind, give me the run-down and your thoughts on the new defensive coaching staff. Are folks excited? Non-plussed? What's up?

GATA! Woof!

RxCowboy, really good to have you back. Several have asked about your whereabouts. Hope that the job change was a plus and all is good with you and the family.

If I had to use one word that describes how I feel. EXCITED!

This should be a really good thought provoking thread . . .

Again, welcome back. :woohoo:

RxCowboy, welcome back I hope your new job works out for you. Greetings from the Classic City. There is am general overall feeling here in Athens that CTG and crew is putting together a in your face denfense. I look forward to seeing our Dawgs flying to the football on \"D\". Me I like us under the radar. THe SEC East is wide open and we can put our nose in the hunt and play in Atlanta come December. Go Dawgs!

Go Dawgs!

Thanks for the \"welcome back\" everyone. I miss working for UGA, and my time there will forever be remembered fondly... and I'll always be a Dawg. However, the new job is great. I feel like I'm where God wants me to be.

So, realistically, what would you like to see out of the D next season? How much improvement do you expect? How long do you think it will take the D to return to top 10 in the country form?

How do you see the SEC East shaping up next season?

Realize that the question asked by RxCowboy pertained to defense, and again, with the new attitude that is soon to be showcased by the Dawgs, should be a tough bunch. Junkyard Dawg type of defense.

Also feel that one reason the defense is going to be better is because the offense should be much improved. QB's young, but not without talent.

Should see and probably will see 3 and 4 receiver sets much of the time. Receiving should not be a problem as some of the talking heads have suggested. Lots of talent on the flanks and tight end. Love Green, but we have others.

Running backs have been discussed by many reporters, some/none willing to step out and say we will be strong in the backfield. Don't agree . . . . if the offensive line steps up (and I think they will) (bad dude, Junkyard Dawg at center) we are going to be real tough to stop.

I truly believe that this year the offensive side and the defensive side are going to compliment one another. That did not happen last year, both sides of the ball left each other in a lurch far too often.

sadlerdawg, I am also RELIEVED. Tall talk coming from a lot of us before the first Spring snap, just have that feeling in the gut. One thing for sure, we have coaches now that know how the game should be played. Up to the coaches and players. Maybe even a bit of NOISE from UGA fans will make this a memorable year. :woohoo:
