Folks if you are watching the young studs playing today in the Army Game, scary. Gators are kicking butt with the young men that are going to Gainesville. Goes to show, run the program and win a MNC or two or three, get that national attention and the dominoes fall in place.
Bothers me a bit for this reason . . . . Gators are picking up recruits from the far west, picking the State of Georgia's bones a bit and here we are on the sideline.
I understand that all of the young men in this game may have many stars by their name, but . . . they were chosen to play in this game for a reason.
As yet have not heard one (1) young player commit to UGA. More and more I agree with AD Evans, have to get more exposure outside of the SEC.
Lets play this out as if we were being recruited by one of the top teams in the country. Would you go to a school that has lost its previous history of playing serious defense and respected for that? Never truly known for playing outstanding offense. Minus a DC and other parts. A team that was pre-season #1 two years ago. Yep, I know that WM was there two years ago . . . it is called out scoring the opponent. Sure as hell was not holding opponents to 20 or less points a game.
Not going to scream real loud at this point, however I also saw some, one or two young men heading to Tennessee. Apparently Lane Kiffin and all of his antics have not hurt him and UT on the recruiting trail. UT was a team that had hit the bottom with phat phil. Don't like the looks of this folks. These young athletes want to go to the NFL. Tennessee has coaches on their staff that can promise many things to potential recruits and have NFL credentials. Good, bad or otherwise, they have NFL CREDENTIALS.
OK, here I go. . . . .
Coach Richt, all of the hopes and desires of UGA faithful that have carried the Red and Black on our shoulders for MANY YEARS now rest on your shoulders. Squarely on your shoulders. The UGA program is beginning to look a lot like the program that is being run out of the White House in DC. A simple speech or comforting and relaxing words read from a teleprompter will not turn this program around.
Soon we will see what the mishap of promoting WM has meant to UGA. A proud program that has fallen under Coach Richt's watch for the time that WM was the DC and now we see the absurdity of the decision. Absolutely one of the worst decisions in the history of UGA.
The first part of your stay with UGA excited all of us Coach Richt. Being a history buff, I know that the pages turn . . . . . will you be able to turn the pages . . . we will see.
Go Dawgs!
