Florida's Urban Meyer Meets The Press Today was created by BeachBama
Up until the past 48 hours I thought Urban Meyers was a smart man. His professional record would certainly back that up as would his heretofore dealings with press, his players and employers.
However the last two days have made millions wonder just what's going on inside that head of his. Sure this is an emotional time for him, but these are millions of dollars at stake, a University and young men's lives that hang on your announcements and quite frankly, you're looking like a buffoon now by changing the most important decision of your life so far so quickly.
At today's press conference, you said that you will now be taking \"an indefinite\" leave of absence but left open exactly what that means.
In the first announcement you said it was your family that caused you to make the decision to walk away, today you said it was your \"second family\", the players that made you decide not to walk away.
It makes you appear like a man who makes decisions based on emotion and who is in front of you at that moment.
So what's next Urban, will you coach every other game? Will you Come back after your recovery for treatment of your condition? Or will you now serve as a Coaching Advisor to the interim coach and offensive coordinator Steve Adazzio while you're out?

I call BS on the whole thing..the cynical side of me thinks this is just a ploy to keep FL, Tebow and Urban's names mentioned all week during every other bowl game. They were not being mentioned very often since all the hype concerned NC game. When the Sugar bowl was mentioned much ado was made about BK being gone.
I hope it backfires and recruits start having second thoughts. I hope every coach in the SEC uses it against them. How do you know who you will be playing for? Meyer, Steve Addazio or someone else.
I'll say this, they must have a National Championship Drama Department at UF. Tebow and Meyer are star students.

Its already had bad effects on his recruits, the only reason he even made this announcement was because his commitments were having second thoughts, so he comes back to save the class.
Now as soon as recruiting day happens he will be back to leaving or taking a lesser role and screwing a lot of kids just to save the class, what a scuzbag.
I hope the kids have the common sense to see him for what he really is, hes a flake and likes to jump ship quickly.

Trust me, Meyer is not coming back.
His \"leave of absence\" is to save his assistant coaches jobs. He stays (on paper) until they show they can handle it. He wants the AD and the fanbase to be satisfied with the coaches in place.
If he left, all of his loyal assists lose their jobs. That simple.
To say that this was all done for publicity is stupid.
Why in the World would Meyer want to distraction this close to the bowl game?
Cynical? Yes.

Yes. Meyer is gone. By doing it this way he keeps recruits in the fold and gets his coaching staff a shot at the big job. If he ever coaches at UF again I would be surprised.
