The latest I've heard on the DC situation

This is an email I got from \"my source\" on the DC situation so far. Interesting.

I know that Richt had Bobo feel out whether or not Kirby was interested, and apparently Kirby was interested in talking. Now he might be just playing us to get more money from Alabama, but I believe that Richt and Kirby are at least going to talk. I spoke to Ray Goff last night. He coached Kirby, and he said that Kirby’s not going anywhere in his opinion. I tend to agree with him but the combination of more money, autonomy, and the ability to select his own defensive staff may appeal to Kirby. We’ll see.

Richt also wants to speak with Van Gorder, though he’s said that he’s not going anywhere. Evidently Richt is going to make Van Gorder tell him to his face. I’ve heard that Kevin Steele is out after Tech ran roughshod over his defense in the ACC game.

wlayton, like this face to face talk. CMR means business . . . . (again).

Buc......he needed to wake up and mean business again. Believe he was enjoying his recliner the last couple of years.

If Coach Richt is looking for a Smart or VanGorder, or someone of that caliber, feel sure that he will leave the picking of assistants to them. They know what they want, and where they want them. Also feel that the hiring of a DC will happen suddenly, much like the dismissal of the defensive coaches.

Not sure a KS will decide anything until after the NC game. Saban gave him his 1st job so he is pretty loyal to him. His \"safer\" route may be to stay with Saban especially if he came to UGA, we go 7-5 and 7-5 again and CMR gets canned.

I would love to see VanGorder come back. I just don't know if we can pay more than the Falcons. I have no doubt that CMR would give him full autonomy on that side of the ball.

Also I wouldn't mind Bumpas from TCU. The moustache seals the deal for me. :-) Who wouldn't want to play for the 'stache?

Go Dawgs!!!!
