How do we prepare for the bowl now?? was created by golferdawg
So the fired coaches have declined the invitation to coach in the bowl game. This leaves us very short staffed to get the team prepared. Is this RG's time to shine? who else is left to help him get the team ready and prepared for A&M's multi threat QB? What do you guys think about this? Is this RG's interview for the job?????? GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!

It could not be any worse than it was before. We wanted them out now lets get on with it. Those guys can remember the basics (I hope) and, CRG should have them well prepped for anyone that will be in the Independence Bowl. We could hold our own against most conferences, just not the SEC.

I read that CMR and 2 graduate assistants and RG are going to coach the D for the bowl. I think the professional thing for the 3 coaches to do would be to coach the bowl game. I know their feelings were hurt and all that, but come on, after the years of loyalty CMR has shown them, they can't even show him the loyalty of one game. Anyway, I also read that RG isn't really being considered for DC....not sure if that's true, but I tend to believe it---I think they want a totally fresh start on D.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

It would not surprise me if Coach Garner becomes our new DC.

My question to this board would be . . . Why not? We are on the outside looking in, and when I look in, I see a lot of potential NFL players that have been not only recruited by Coach Garner, but coached by him also. The depth of Coach Garner's defensive capabilities are not known by me, and probably not by many outside of Coach Richt.

I liked what I saw from the portion of the defense Coach Garner was responsible for. Those studs in the middle really handled GT, and don't care if we had size on the enemy, will take any advantage presented.

From what I have witnessed this year, we got beat handily on the outside, however when we got a certain troubled player back, that portion of the line shored up considerably.

Not quite sure who we are going to play in the bowl game, would be hard to say whether or not this is Coach Garner's job interview. If I was a wagering man, would wager that he will have the Dawgs ready to play.

One last thingy . . . . Coach Richt is going to have his hands all over UGA football, and that began with GT in Atlanta this year. Offense, defense, special teams. CMR is on the road back to where he and all of us want to be. He made very hard decisions, decisions that he needed to make. Let's face it, those that are gone are the ones that he hired. Go Dawgs!

I agree Sadler, but we dont need them!! If they want to wear their feelings on their sleeves...let 'em GO! It cant be no worse than it has been all season. The best thing for our D right now is to get some fresh ideas. Maybe UF will pick up good ole Willie! I think he would be a GREAT asset to their program!!

sadlerdawg, guess that it is not surprising that some lips are in the pout position. Just really goes to show that they were not the real deal when they were here. They really messed up a lot of good, young talent that played between the hedges.

When covering downfield, LOOK INTO THEIR EYES . . . . Bye Bye Martinez, you need to OPEN YOUR EYES. Some out in this world don't accept the money you did without understanding HALF TIME ADJUSTMENTS. I refused to address Martinez as \"coach\" during the season, guess this old geezer was right.

Listen up Coach Bobo, the TRAIN IS BACK ON THE TRACKS . . . .
