Bob Sanders

Bob Sanders was created by DawgnLA
I remember seeing a post about how Bob Sanders, former GB D coordinator could be in the running for our soon to be vacant(let us all pray) D coordinator position. This dude has a pretty deep resume even though he was run out of Green Bay much in the same manner as we hope CWM will be.

BS has spent time in the NFL, SEC and also as a part time coach for the Nerdy Gnats. My thoughts initially is that NFL experience is promising and he was also trusted the the Gators defense under Spurrier who was totally offensive minded and had to have a solid D coordinator to run that show.

Can any of our Gator friends shed some light on BS tenure at UF?

Seems he was run out of GB b/c they wanted a change in philosophy and to go to the 3-4.

Anyone else done some digging into him.

I'm by no means putting the cart before the horse, my curiosity about a name mentioned just got the best of me.

I know almost nothing about him other than he was with Spurrier at Duke and UF and then was DC at Green Bay last year. I know that he and Richt are tight through FCA. That’s about it from me.

Any of us off this forum would have to be an improvement at that spot over what we're seeing now.

The whole face guarding receivers and watching their eyes thing absolutley kills me. That explains why Bruce Thornton played the way he did. To his own fault he was coachable!

Another D coordinator who will be job hunting...

Off CBS sports:

The Tampa Tribune reports that the Buccaneers have relieved defensive coordinator Jim Bates of his duties and will likely revert back to their traditional Cover 2 defense. Bates had changed the scheme this season but the Bucs have found themselves ranked last vs. the run and 14th vs. the pass with 22 passing touchdowns scored on them. There's no word on who will call the defensive plays.

Raheem Morris, the head coach will be calling the defensive alignments. This was to be his job this year, however he was named the head coach after Jon Gruden was released.

Earlier in the year Coach Morris released his head offensive coordinator.

Unlike some, Raheem Morris fully understands the cover two.
