CMR said that every program goes through a bad season now an then. He claims that we will get thing moving in the right direction and get back to our winning ways. I know he can not say anything about changes with 2 games left, but you'd think he could give us some comfort by at least saying that he plans to reqroup and do what ever is necessary.
He may have already said this somewhere and I have just missed it, but for the life of me, I do not believe CMR thinks that there is a problem with the coaches. He continues to blame everything on turn overs and youth. If this is the case, we had no turn overs in the Auburn game and they still scored 27 points. I am frustrated that nothing seems to be going to be done with the current situation of Defense, Offense, special teams, strenth and cond.
One more thing, this is the second time that I have heard a sports show talk about how UGA looks tired and pushed around in the fourth quarter. They also made reference to thank god there is a Vanderbilt. If I was a UGA player and people were making fun of me and my team, I'd go out play 110% and kick some but to prove this people wrong.

\"If they decide to make a change, I'd have a tough time arguing that because 6-5 is not good enough,\" --was that Coach Richt, taking responsibility for poor performance? Nope. Charlie Weiss.
Here's Coach Richt deflecting responsiblity--
\"I think all programs go through some cycles, and we've been on a pretty good upswing for quite some time,This year has certainly been a downturn when it comes to record. IT IS WHAT IT IS. Will we get it back on track and get back to the winning ways we're used to? I think so. I don't think there's any doubt about it.\"
I'm surprised he didn't throw in something about fans not understanding the cycles since most have never been in the \"arena\".

I know it is hard for us to judge what he is really thinking, and he may supprise us all and fire everyone the first of the year. I just base my comments on what I have seen him do over the past 3 years and how things have been handled.

OK, which coach said each of the following 2 statements? (and which coach do we wish said them?):
\"If they decide to make a change, I'd have a tough time arguing that because 6-5 is not good enough,\" --was that Coach Richt, taking responsibility for poor performance? Nope. Charlie Weiss.

sadlerdawg, think that I have mentioned this along with a few others . . . . if we keep recruiting the \"finesse\" players and not bringing the big \"nasties\" in to win some of the scrimmage line battles, we won't improve much from where we are now.
Trying to run a pro-style offense is fine, however it does not work if the sum of the parts comes up short of the team lined up against us.
Example: Miami Dolphins. Pro-style for a million years. Program comes crashing down . . . what do they do to correct the situation . . . first they bring in Parcells, change the coaching staff and change the attack.
First round draft pick by Parcells, big \"nasty\" offensive left tackle. Changes made include making the offensive line play as a unit or get out of town. Defensive end tries to shake down the company for more money . . . . Parcells says hit the road toad. Now said DE is back in Miami and loving it.
Parcells runs this team, we all know that. Guess this post leads up to this . . . who and where is our leader. If he is on board, please stand up and lead us.

I agree 100%, Buc. The part about Richt's quote that really ruffles my fur is the part I capitalized--IT IS WHAT IT IS--that is the biggest cop out in all of sports, and in no way, shape or form should a head coach ever say that. That is just saying, \"Well, this is the situation we're dealt and there's nothing that can be done about it\". IT IS WHAT IT IS, my @$$. It doesn't have to be that--DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!! A few weeks ago, Richt said he wasn't going to play all the younger guys to get ready for next year because that would be giving up on this season, but then to say IT IS WHAT IT IS???? Maybe Richt swiped a few of Bobby Bowden's senile pills when he left FSU and has been popping them.

As far as play calling, FSU and BB profited from the relationship by having CMR as offensive coordinator. He had played the position in high school, college (not often) and in the pros (same, not often). What made CMR in my opinion . . . . smart, good communicator and playing BEHIND some really good talent. There is something to be said for carrying the clipboard and following the brain trust around.
The QB's that CMR played behind have been successful in life, but haven't seen either on the sidelines coaching college or pro. Some play, some coach.
If all of this comes down to being too overloaded and passing along coaching responsibilities, then many in the Dawg Nation feel that maybe some poor choices have been made. Again this is not IT IS WHAT IT IS, this is a program that has had its ups and downs for many years. CMR is hired and takes this program to a new level, a level that had been missing for many years and more than one coach hire.
This is now expected from Coach Richt, if the fire as some say is not in his belly, his first responsibility is to the University of Georgia. If the existing attitude is . . . IT IS WHAT IT IS, spare not only yourself, but those that have been around the Red and Black for quite a while.
One more thing . . . . While we might not be in the ARENA on game day with the pigskin, spiritually we never leave or left the field. We are not pulling against our team, we are trying to pull a Coach Richt and rush the end zone looking for more and better results. Simple word, RESULTS.
