Conversation on a Monday . . .

Spurrier left for what he thought was greener pastures. Redskins and all their money did not make SS the coach that was needed. He was not leading college guys, he was there with dudes that have their pockets filled prior to the first practice. Left what was the prize in the SEC at that time. No man is larger than the game, that includes each and every coach in the SEC or elsewhere.

Meyer might say a lot of things, but he is not a fool. If you bet, play the odds, he will probably be 10+ wins every year at Florida. Saw somewhere on the board where someone thought that Florida would be dead when TT leaves. If you believe that, I truly have some land in Florida for sale.

Lots of players leaving UF this year, however the stable is full, lots of young stallions chomping at the bits to play. No, I am not a UF supporter, I am a realist, the talent level at UF is incredible. Started with SS, but stupid is as stupid does. . . . just ask Spurrier.

With a name like KELLY, how could he not become one of the primary names being considered. Notre Dame is not the Notre Dame of the early years, they are one of the programs that now rest somewhere around 8-10 wins a year . . . . National Championships, don't think so. Also, being honest, grades do count in South Bend. Don't push this issue with me, you will lose. Last statement on Notre Dame . . . . I pull against them each and every game they play. They were pompus butts longer than my lifetime. . . . and still are. Go NAVY/MARINES.

A line or two about the UGA football team. Seems as if we have found a solid backfield. That includes the fullback, as I like to call them. There were some good holes opened by the offensive line, and CK and WE took advantage. Looks like CK is finally realizing that being dinged and not playing can take away from playing time. Both running backs look really good to me, gives me great hope for the learning process the rest of the year and returning next year for bigger and better things. Kentucky should be a good game to watch and analyze both.

Still a bit miffed about a starting QB next season. Those of you that have played football remember the first time coach said \"Rookie Go In For\" . . . . I remember and that is almost prehistoric. The kid from Tampa is really good . . . . please remember this as this will be the third time I have said this on this board . . . . . He is a gunslinger. Has wheels, likes to rip the heart out of the defense. Somewhat like a guy playing for the Vikings now.

Close with this. In the SEC over the years, it is mandatory that you have a kicking game, goes hand in hand with playing defense. Seems like Coach Richt has that part of the Dawgs well situated for some time to come. Maybe some other areas will be corrected also.

Sorry to be so long, just seemed like a slow Monday to me . . . . :woohoo:

Couldnt agree more. The gators have a ton of ammo. However, replacing the \"it\" factor that TT has will be quite a task.

Haven't got to see the Murray kid play that much, but I believe running the football will be a huge area of help on the read option out of the shotgun. Even Stafford and Cox have broken a couple of runs when they have pulled it. Can only imagine the yardage that a decent running qb would get. Apparently, the kid can throw the football too. Plus, it seems like that is they way the game is turning. QB's that can run when the pass isnt there seem to a lot more successful.

Good post.

Buc, I think Murray will be the starter next year and that CMR will run Shockley's \"package\" for him. He is another DJ but without the experience. I believe they need to start preparing him in the spring as the #1 guy and stay with him. He's the real deal.....PLAY HIM.

Buc thats a full post. Lots to consider. UF will be very good next year and as long as UM is there they will always play well.
I think if ND makes a change, they will go with BK. But I with you am a big Anti-Irish person.

UGA has found a solid running game, that will be huge in the coming weeks. If they can control the game and time of possesion against Kent and more importantly Tech, they have a good chance of winning both games.

Happened to run into a person close to the UGA program, and he said that CMR is is being honest when he says that JC gives them the best chance of winning. Said that the other 2 freshman havent had very good practices, or CMR would have made the change already. Makes for some interesting thoughts about next year if that is in fact true.

GATORstrong, if you live here in the middle of the state and pay as much attention to the high school programs as I do, there is no doubt that the state is full of talent. Sometimes it even gets a bit scary to an old fart like me. There is so much talent that not one, two, three or many more schools could come close to taking all of the top rated talent away.

UGA has a good foot hold on a lot of this talent because of folks like Coach Richt and some of the folks on his staff. Also, Tony Dungy and others in this state, not only know Mark Richt, they respect him. Derrick Brooks and others are willing to send these young men to Athens. This is not to say that the State of Georgia does not have equal talent, but one must be realistic, look at the population of the two states.

UGA is loaded with talent, but if I had one wish for Santa this year . . . Please sign Luc, don't want to play against him. Linebacker and other positions in high school. This is the guy that wlayton wants, and he is the next GREAT DE in the nation. Book it.

Last thingy here . . . . sign some OFFENSIVE LINEMEN. That is how Saban and the rest stay on top. Go Dawgs!

HEY yALL, I was thinkin if CUM turns down Notre Dame, I bet they go after Paul Johnson, That Off he runs at tech would probably work At ND and He also seems like there kind of coach, cause once this season is over he is going to get some serious looks from better schools than tech!! I hate to say it, cause I dont like him ,but he should get coach of the yr for making those insects play like there hair is on fire!! I am praying we beat them, but with willie as our DC, I am afraid its going to be Revenge of the Nerds PT2 this yr!! GOO DAWGSSS!!!
