Yall know, being on the road all of the time to make a living gives me a great opportunity to see the good ol' USofA and in case yall didn’t realize this already (which I’m sure you did), it's really an AMAZING country! I’ve got literally thousands of pictures from all of the following places with me proudly wearing something Red or Black or Silver with a bulldog or a G on it in darn near every photo.
I've:
Stood 10 ft. from REAL gators in the Everglades
Nearly touched a Key deer, kayaked in a mangrove forest, and snorkeled with a nurse shark in the FL Keys
Learned to snow ski in short sleeves and face-planted in the soft, cool powder in Brighton, Utah
Gazed at the illuminated Gateway Arch and knocked back a few cold Buds at the Cubs-Cardinals game in St. Louis
Watched grizzly bears romp, elk and bison graze, and wolves hunt at Yellowstone
Tracked down a pack of moose in the willows w/the Teton Mtns. towering overhead in Jackson, WY
Hiked amongst multi-colored landforms in the Painted Desert
Touched forever preserved wood in the Petrified Forest
Been grateful that I’ve never been hit by a flying space rock at Meteor Crater
Squinted through the smoke of distant wildfires at the Colorado River 7,000 ft below at the bottom of the Grand Canyon
Won some money (and lost even more) but made some new friends in Las Vegas
Took in dizzying views from vertical cliff edges at Zion Ntl Park
Pondered eerie formations called \"hoodoos\" at Bryce Canyon in So. Utah
Peered through the fog at the Golden Gate Bridge, stood at the corner of Haight-Ashbury, and cheered on my Braves at a ball game in San Francisco
Seen the sun set slowly on Half Dome, swam in sub-50 degrees snow melt water, and slid down a rock face feeding Vernal Falls at Yosemite
Gawked at 30 ft. diameter trees at Sequoia Nt'l Forest
Laughed at prairie dogs playing, watched a fox catch an unfortunate prairie dog and tried to count the stars in our milky way at the Badlands
Stalked a porcupine and searched for Native American dream catchers at Devil’s Tower
Said thanks to our forefathers at Mt. Rushmore
Snorkeled with seals and walked the putting green at Torrey Pines in San Diego
Admired the delicacy of nature at Arches Ntl Park
Celebrated my B-day w/mountain goats and bighorn sheep at 13,000+ ft. up above the timberline at Rocky Mtn. Nt'l Park
Hiked 12 miles to touch the melting Grinnell glacier and bout had a heart attack when a black bear rose up behind me in the bushes some 30 yards away at Glacier Nt’l Park
I’m not trying to boast here (I hope some of yall can enjoy these sights too if given the opportunity). All I’m trying to say is that I’ve been mighty blessed to experience all of these wonderful places within the past 5 months but there ain’t NO place this Georgia born and bred boy would rather be than to be back HOME in Dixie.
The time is near my fellow Dawg fans and I’m SOOOO ready I can hardly stand it.
It’s time to Hunker Down cause come Sept. 5th it’s all about the Red & Black, it’s all about the Silver Britches, it’s all about rooting your heart out for our boys, it’s all about 92,000+ friends congregating in the Classic City, it's all about dominating Btw. the Hedges, it’s all about barking SIC EM til’ you're hoarse, and it’s all about the GLORY…Cause there ain’t NOTHING finer in ALL the land than being a damn good Georgia Bulldogs fan!
