Fellas I went down to the game today and it was under par to say the least. A few bright spots on the defense, but the offense looked sluggish at best. JC is an okay qb, but it would probably be better to go with a sophomore and build the future rather than a fifth year senior. LG did some things in the game today that were very promising from such a young player. He has some intagibles that JC doesnt have. Just some thoughts I know its early and my opinion may be biast, but if CMR doesnt shake things up and get them fired up they may just lose to a very capable OK ST team. They made alot of bad mistakes(offsides for one) that need to be corrected before the season starts. Just my take on what I saw, dont verbally abuse me to bad.

'strong, I was there also and this was my take on the game. QB all did well. I seemed to like Aaron Murray best. Receivers couldn't catch a cold except for AJG. AJG made some pretty catches even though the prettiest one was out of bounds. The ball seems to stick to his hands. I also saw one of the \"fill-in\" TE's make some big catches. I saw a glimpse ofwhat is to come from Carlton Thomas.
What I did see that pleased me most was the defense blitzing linebackers and the DEs getting a lot of pressure on QB. Justin Houston was an animal! I saw Marcus Washington getting after it, I saw Bryan Evans covering people (had a INT), I saw the interior stuffing the run, I saw a lot of promising things from the game. My question wasn't offense, when we get healthy we'll be fine there. My question was defense. We looked good there.
If you looked along the sidelines, you saw many people not in pads. 10 on defense including Jeff Owens, Demarcus Dobbs, Rod Battle, and Darius Dewberry. 12 on offense including Richard Samuel, Bruce Figgins, Trinton Sturdivant, Vince Vance, Kris Durham, Josh and Chris Davis. Oh, not to mention, Matt Stafford and Knowshon Moreno were also on the sidelines. That is a lot of playing time missing!
At the start of the season, we'll be OK. Hopefully we can get past the first games because as the season wears on we're going to be real good! (barring injuries). :S

No guys I did have a blue polo on. Just couldnt put the red and black on. Felt weird. Watson I agree that is alot of players on the sideline watching, but it was hard to watch recievers with scholarships dropping easy balls. In close games they are gonna have to make those plays. The defense was really getting after the ball and showed alot of heart. After each tackle there was at least 7-8 helmets swarming the ball and that is an improvement from last year.

my thing is...JC (other than the first play) couldn't even come close to hitting the long ball. LG was hitting (if recievers weren't dropping easy balls) the short, med, and long balls. plus made plays with his feet. if we werent playing touch ball on the qb's i think he would have destroyed our D. I honestly thing LG would make a better fit for us than JC.

Our corners are going to give up as many yrds this year as they did last year (sorry for going negative)

Goooooo Dawgs...Sic'em...Woof Woof Woof!!!
