Encouraging Words from Spring Practice

According to georgiadogs.com, Mark Richt says that the defense has been outstanding at Spring Practice so far.

“Today was outstanding especially the defense,” said Georgia coach Mark Richt. “Without question, the defense is setting the tone for the spring. They are getting after it. I really liked their hustle, enthusiasm and running to the football. If the offense can match that, it will be good for the team, but the defense is the lead dog right now.”

I like that. Maybe Coach Jancek is setting a good get-after-the-ball tone early and we won't be playing catch-up come midseason. What do you all think?

I like what I am hearing also, dapolla. Richt says they are about to explode not being able to hit anyone. Coaches and players have been pulling players off each other. Practice is getting a little \"chippy\". Today they don the pads for the furst time. Let's hope this isn't the beginning of the spread of the injury bug that plagued us last year.

With the season ending the way it did against GT, would expect (and hope) that we won't make the mistakes that were made previously on the defensive side of the ball. Really glad to see Coach Jancek taking on a more \"hands on\" position with the total defense. Stay healthy fellows, leave the egos at the door and GATA.

Well dapolla.......I believe Jancek may be putting his aggressive LB attitude on the D as a whole but the \"truth be known\" Minnie Mouse could help WM with his defensive philosophy.





ok, ok, last year was last year.........no more slamming this early in the year.....all positive thoughts going forward. After all, I predicted a better team this year, a SEC Championship and in the hunt for a NC. :ohmy:

Love the prediction, wlayton. We're flying under the radar and going to surprise a few teams next year. Lot of young guys will play early. If we can get through the first few games we'll be awful good by the end of the year.
