John Lovett Named Hurricanes' Defensive Coordinator

18-year coaching veteran to guide Miami's defense

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - -

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – John Lovett has been named the new defensive coordinator at the University of Miami. A veteran coach with 18 years of experience as a defensive coordinator with stops at Clemson, Auburn and Mississippi, Lovett inherits a unit that returns 15 players with starting experience, including three Freshman All-Americans.

Well that was our last chance. Mind as well have a change of hart and get behind Willie and root him on. This is his last chance I believe to keep his job. We should expect good things this year with our D and hopefully get back to the UGA D's we are used to. Here's to you Willie

I'm with you golferdawg, if this season goes as seasons past then CMR will have no choice but to fire him. The only thing we can hope for will be that CWM see's the writing on the wall and goes out and buys a copy of \"Defensive Coaching for DUMMIES\".

I just don't believe he has the ability to be a great DC. The great ones have a solid scheme and an instinct for making adjustments at THE right times. Not happening with WM.....only hope is if our players are much better than his lack of coaching prowess.

Maybe at this rate good ole' Monte will get sick of his dumb@$$ son, and come to a real college program. Rocky the top is :-)
