Coaches are on their way to see GR today and then he arrives in Athens on Friday and will leave around noon on Sunday. He said that if UGA feels right this weekend then he will be a Dawg on Tuesday and Sign the papers on Wednesday. I say we all meet and tailgate outside the student center with Greg Reid shirts on!:P I feel good about this kid. He doesn't have the correct ACT or SAT score to get in right now and his GPA is little sceetchy! He had a \"B\" average on his last report card and they say that will help get his grades up?? Oouch:S Sounds like CMR needs to get a Tudor to his house quickly.

Guys i can speak from experience being recruited with low grades and low ACT scores. It's not fun when coaches start looking at that as a negative but I personally showed grade improvements and gradually got my ACT score up enough that I could've played D1 golf at small school but chose to go the NAIA rout at a better school. Anyway the point is if he is working that hard to get his grades up, shows he does care about his future! Greg Reid the starting CB for the University of Georgia! has a good ring to it. If all the pieces fall into place UGA might have a top 3 recruiting year. Hopefully it pans out better than the last one in i think 02 or 03?

I played at a small school in West Tennessee Bethel College. Golf was their #1 sport and that was the main reason I chose to play there and not a bigger school. Plus it helps when you have 2 top 5 schools in the country in your confrence. Competion is all I wanted and I recieved it at every tournament we played in.

On a football note: Bethel has the 2nd worse beating in college football history behind the bugs blow out. It was my sophomore year and we had to play UT-Martin on a Thursday night. Our student body was 475 students that year and all of our studd football players from the year before transfered to other schools and we had a new coaching staff also. First game of the year. They beat us 97-7 and it made ESPN the next day. I remember Stewart Scott coming on the air and saying if you had Bethel of TN and 89 points you still lost! I watched every point scored just to see if they would score 100. They tried we picked off a pass in the end zone with under a minute to play. That prick of a coach left his starting team in the whole game.

i tell you what...this sounds kinda promising...from ugasports.com:

Talk about it in The Dawgvent
Lowndes High defensive back Greg Reid said he's looking forward to this weekend's official visit to Georgia so much that he's bringing some friends.
\"I am hoping to have a good time, hang out, and hopefully find a place like home,\" Reid said in a telephone interview with UGASports..

Named a 5-star prospect in the final Rivals.com rankings, Reid has brought an entourage with him. He feels they will help him have an even better time.

\"I brought some friends to hang out this weekend,\" Reid said. \"My boys Washaun Ealey, Dexter Moody, and my best friend Michael Gilliard are coming with me. They know this place, so it is already like home to them.\"

Reid met with coaches from Georgia last night, and he was able to take more from the visit than he usually gets over the phone.

\"The visit went real well, Coach (Mike) Bobo, Coach (Willie) Martinez, and Coach (Mark) Richt were able to talk to me longer,\" Reid said. \"It was great to really get to know them better.\"

While he will no doubt be told of his chance to shine at Georgia while on his visit, he admits he will probably not hear anything new.

\"I already know the situation and the players there,\" he said. \"The coaches let me know there is an opportunity for me and it is up to me to take it.\"

The No. 1 player in the state has been under a constant barrage from college coaches, students, and the media since he made his decision to reopen his recruitment a month ago. Now, with only four days until he makes his decision, he is ready for things to calm down.

\"I am blessed to even be in this position, but if feels good to know I am getting closer,\" he said. \"There will be another wave of attention next week, but after that it should settle down.\"

The 5-foot-9, 175-pound prospect plans to announce his decision Tuesday night at a local steakhouse in Valdosta.

Goooooo Dawgs...Sic'em...Woof Woof Woof!!!
