BCS Blows

This is going to be the worst bowl season ever I think. I mean you got Ok V Fla in the whoever scores last game of the year, then instead of putting Texas and Alabama together you throw Bama in a game against Utah and Texas v Ohio State so they can get routed for the 3rd year in a row, instead of playing the 2 teams that prolly shouldnt be there against each other to make better games (Cinci vs. Utah)! What ever happened to playing the best matchups to make better games? I for one would have loved to see Tx V Bama! This whole system is flawed and once again they prove it! Am I alone with my opinions?

First off, UF vs. OU will not be a \"whoever scores last\" game. Florida is going to MURDER Oklahoma, the way LSU and USC did the last time the Sooners got gifted into the title game. The last time Oklahoma was able to win the national title, they literally had to have Florida State play its worst game ever to that point and have Mark Richt take another job. That was one of the worst college football games ever played.

Secondly, I agree with everything else you've said, mostly. Ohio State does NOT deserve to be in a BCS game. They are a two-loss team. Boise State is ranked one spot above them. Texas will destroy them. Case closed. Cincy vs. Va Tech will actually be a good game, because those two teams are equally matched. The ACC and Big East suck this year, and this will be a battle for who's not the worst conference in the BCS (or, as is now politically correct, the AQ) conferences. But the matchups are terrible. Texas vs. Alabama would have so much juice it'd be like another national title game. Texas beats Alabama and #2 Florida barely beats #1 OU? It's a split title! Maybe. And what bowl game could or would ever be better than Utah vs. Ohio State? Nothing would render the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry obsolete more than Utah beating both of them in the same season!

Then again, I never watch the BCS bowls. They suck every year. I watch the Sugar Bowl when Georgia's in it, and that's it. The only two national title games I've ever finished were OSU-Miami and USC-Texas. The others have been so terrible I just haven't watched them. The only game I ever really made an effort to watch out of the BCSers was the Penn State-FSU game, because of the Bowden-Paterno thing. Snooze. I wish I'd watched the Boise State-OU game, but when it was my bedtime, and at halftime it was 28-10 Boise State, I said great! BSU just won the game, goodnight.

The biggest bowl game period will take place on December 23rd (!) at 8 pm Eastern. That's the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl. #9 Boise State vs. #11 Texas Christian. Awesome! Boise is undefeated going into the bowl season for the third time in five years (2004, 2006, 2008), and Texas Christian's only losses were to Utah and Oklahoma. I guess the world is just lucky that this game isn't on the NFL network, huh? We actually get to see one good bowl game this year.

Oh well. Go Dawgs. If Utah wins and Boise State wins, the final rankings might look like this:

1) Florida
2) Texas
3) Utah
4) Boise State

I dont think Fla is goign to murder Ok, lets face it their D is pretty good, but I think Bradford will pick them appart like hes been doing all year, I forsee a 70-63 game! Who knows, Ill prolly have something better to do than to even watch that game, I dont think either team should be there! There again who should be? Its a terrible system and its gonna keep getting worse! Uhg!

I don't have to face anything. OU has the 99th ranked passing defense in the country, 65th overall. They are the WORST defensive team EVER to make it to the National Championship game; no other team has ever made it when ranked higher than 30th. Florida, meanwhile, is allowing 12.5 points per game while scoring 45.

Of all the BCS games, the sugar is the biggest joke. that bowl is totally losing its luster. how many times do sec teams need to own these joke schools from out west before the BCS says enough? first the dawgs put it on boise 48-13, then do the same to hawaii 41-10, and even florida got in on the act by stomping the rainbows last year. I know Utah is technically from a different conference than the ponies and the rainbows but still, the teams are basically the same caliber. If the tide get up for the sugar bowl they might very well win 52-7 or worse. Like what everybodys been saying the difference between alabama-utah and alabama-texas is like the difference between watch paint dry and riding a roller coaster
