Pete Carroll complainging about the BCS

Pete Carroll is a moron. If it weren't for the BCS, he wouldn't have had a share of the 2003 National Title. His USC Trojans would have had to play the best LSU team to ever set foot on a field, and they would have gotten murdered. If it weren't for the BCS, USC might have had to play an undefeated Auburn team in 2004. If it weren't for the BCS system protecting the USC brand, Georgia might have travelled to the Rose Bowl last year and beaten his team. The BCS does nothing but protect USC and guarantee it a Rose Bowl bid EVERY SINGLE STINKING YEAR. Pete Carroll is a great coach, but he's approaching Mack Brown/Michael Adams scumbag status if he doesn't quit whining about a system that literally handed him two national titles.

Mack Brown? I understand the Adams reference and agree. But what have I missed with Mack Brown?

DawgFaninTn, I assume he's talking about in '04 when Mack pulled the big flip-flop by saying (when he thought UT might win their conference) that the BCS was supposed to match the top 2 teams and the conference champions...but then when they didn't win the conference but were ranked 5th or 6th he said the BCS should just give the conference chanmps a ring and a hug and let the top 8 teams play.

Yeah...Mack Brown whined his way into the Rose Bowl. Not that he didn't deserve to be there over Cal...Cal definitely didn't deserve to be there that year. But still. It proves that you can politic your way into anything in college football, which is what makes it so flawed. Which is why I don't give a damn about any BCS bowl game unless Georgia is in it, because the matchups are always crap. I'd rather watch Tulsa vs. Buffalo in the GMAC Bowl, honestly.
