Let's talk some defense! was created by southernlover
It's going to be hard to compete with or overshadow the potential for the returning offensive studs, but personally I think the biggest non-story, and I don't mind, is the returning talent on the Defensive side of the ball. Last season was riddled with your typical growing pains associated with young pups(Vandy anyone, Troy State, Western Carolina or Ole Miss). But with solid talent and depth that is second to none, I think the league is going to be shocked with what awaits them when they try and move the chains on this years bunch. Who do you think will step up and bring the heat when we need them most?

YES, I think we will be a \"complete and well rounded\" team this season. The only \"kinks\" we MAY have that I could see would be our special teams (ie. punting and field goal). But with as many touchdowns we will be scoring I think we will have field goals down to an art by the third quarter of GSU, I hope. And since we're not gonna have any forth and long situations, we're not gonna need to even worry about a punt team. We may as well just do away with that page out of the play book and make room for other plays.

Well, seeing what the coaches have done over the past few years with duct tape, bubble gum and hairspray, it'll be interesting to see what happens now they've got the real stuff.

Our punting will be fine, a little nervous on the FG team even though he's an All-American.
Hard to pick out one person or area on defense that will be outstanding....the WHOLE D should be outstanding. Watch Curran and Ellerbe, they will be EVERYWHERE. Concerned a little about DE and depth at safety.
