Our problem so far...

Georgia's problem in this game was that they put too much emphasis on the fact that Fresno State's pitching is worn out, and got greedy and tried to jump all over it in the early innings by being undisciplined at the plate and swinging for the fences every time. This, of course, just made Fresno State's pitching look better than what it really was because we didn't sit back, wait for our pitches, and make them work for it.

You take advantage of tired pitching by playing fundamental baseball and forcing them to either throw hittable strikes or walk you every time, not by taking huge cuts at things that are obviously too high or too low. When the Dawgs lineup finally realized this, well, look what happened.

Tomorrow, their staff will be even more decimated than it was today, and we now know that if we stick to solid, fundamental baseball the runs will follow.

They won't hit Montgomery and Weaver like they hit Holder and McCree.

We had our edge-of-the-seat nailbiter thriller to make this a series for the ages, now let's go out there and take care of business tomorrow. None of this rally, never-say-die, come from behind bs. It's time to end this thing with a bang.

Dawgs 12, Fresno State 4.

Exactly, chemdawg. My son and I were yelling at the UGA hitters to be patient and wait on the pitches and wear these guys out. I guess they finally heard us. I like your prediction for the next game, and I think you're right.

GO DAWGS!!!!!

Very accurate assessment ChemDawg & Sadler & VideoDawg (also, Sadler, yeah, I really like Videodawg much more than Dawg/Tiger for the young pup B)). Still, you could definitely tell that the hitters were overly anxious to tee off on the weary Fresno staff. While it doesn't get any more exciting that tonight's thriller I would certainly welcome a good ol' fashion blowout tomorrow night & could see it happening. OUR Dawgs just don't know how to do anything but rally & win ballgames right now.

I WANT TO SEE THE HARDWARE COME HOME TO ATHENS, GA! Here's to hoping that we're all celebrating long before this hour of the night tomorrow!!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Yeah, goosedawg, we had to get rid of that tiger in his name. Speaking of videodawg, did you see his latest? It's on youtube, I put the link in a thread called \"Please Pardon the shameful parental promotion\" or something like that by NC_Dawg on page 2 of the thread list. It's one of his best, IMO.

While much has been discussed about the nuances from Game #1, notwithstanding the obvious lovefest for the Cali Dogs, there is still a decided edge to the winner. Much can be debated about the FS pitching line-up, the injuries and Cindy looking for her slippers, but nothing goes to the psyche quite like having the W within reach only to have it wrestled from you...To have your late inning grit and determination equaled then surpassed by the grit and dawged determination of a rival...We may very well see a different type of game tonight, one that doesn't bode well for the west coast canines. I would love nothing more than a complete sweep for the Diamond Dawgs!!!

Sadler, I missed the comment you made earlier on my post. I too, recall meeting some Dawg fans at Liberty's soccer game. We probably met and didn't make the connection...I'll have one at Walter Johnson and one at Liberty next year...both will end up at Patton. Sounds like we will cross paths again. Your pups video was great. I took the liberty to relink it for those that didn't see it before....

Great video, man am I ready for some football.
I was also amazed at our early impatience yesterday. It reminded me of some of the Little League teams I coached. The strike zone is there for a reason, work the count, get on base. Kids just want to smack the ball.
I say we finish 'em off tonight.
