Georgia's problem in this game was that they put too much emphasis on the fact that Fresno State's pitching is worn out, and got greedy and tried to jump all over it in the early innings by being undisciplined at the plate and swinging for the fences every time. This, of course, just made Fresno State's pitching look better than what it really was because we didn't sit back, wait for our pitches, and make them work for it.
You take advantage of tired pitching by playing fundamental baseball and forcing them to either throw hittable strikes or walk you every time, not by taking huge cuts at things that are obviously too high or too low. When the Dawgs lineup finally realized this, well, look what happened.
Tomorrow, their staff will be even more decimated than it was today, and we now know that if we stick to solid, fundamental baseball the runs will follow.
They won't hit Montgomery and Weaver like they hit Holder and McCree.
We had our edge-of-the-seat nailbiter thriller to make this a series for the ages, now let's go out there and take care of business tomorrow. None of this rally, never-say-die, come from behind bs. It's time to end this thing with a bang.
Dawgs 12, Fresno State 4.
