Another Vol in the can!

Britton Colquitt was recently arrested for DUI. That's nine members of the Tn. team in trouble with the law since Jan. 11. Who wants to bet that Colquit starts the first game of the season. Methinks Fat Phil \"punts\" on this one.
GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!

It's impossible to say if Britton will face the same struggles, but his almost happy-go-lucky attitude may well help him in pressure situations. He has already overcome the stigma associated with his three alcohol-related arrests in 2004. Those close to him say the \"new Britton Colquitt\" has matured in response to those legal issues.

averagedawg, guess this is another athlete that thinks he is above it all. Wonder where this particular arrest leaves him as far as the previous three arrests in 2004. We will watch this one. Phat Phil probably took care of that matter. Reminds me of the Jeremy Stevens article that was posted here. How many \"passes\" do they get.

Britton Colquitt, a punter on the University of Tennessee football team, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident early this morning.

According to the Knox County Judicial Commissioner's Office, Colquitt, 22, hit a parked Ford Focus on Jackson Avenue near Humes Street at 2:56 a.m. today while driving a 1998 Jeep Cherokee, then fled the scene.

The Knoxville Police Department stopped Colquitt on Gill Avenue near Gratz Street. He admitted to having two beers, three mixed drinks, hitting the car and a tree stump, according to police records.

As I sit here at the computer I am having a whisky and soda. Very enjoyable, just finished with the Daytona 500. Not driving and drinking. Young man needs help.

Wow, are you guys sure about that?? Because I thought Lardo had made it clear that he wasn't going to tolerate such behavior. Must be a misprint. :cheer:

BUC--great finish to the 500, eh?

Buc, his parents contribute a lot of $ to Tn., it's a shame DUI is no laughing matter. Lardo obviously has no control of his program. He is a classless clown who could help these kids but only cares about saving his job.

sadlerdawg, looks like the wheels really are coming off of the Phat Phil machine. He has had several pit stops, guess that his \"crew\" just can't get him back in the race with all of the parts working. Should not say this but . . . . beating Tennessee might be my number one wish for the 2008 Dawgs . . . . Losing Coach Cutcliffe did not help their program at all, as they will find out shortly.

Think that Coach Richt knew how much Akeem Hebron could have helped the Dawgs last season . . . . however . . .

Hebron suspended

That crafty Carter Strickland has the story obtained through open records laws that Akeem Hebron has been suspended for the season and will be eligible to return to school in January 2008.

sadlerdawg, thought about you yesterday, glad to see the 500 come around to a real race again. We just need to get Elliott's Dodge up and running in the front with the others. It will happen, he is too good behind the wheel not to move up.
