Someone please explain the ticket ordering process

This 2008 season coming up will be my first time purchasing UGA tickets as a non-student. How does that work?

As I understand it, you have to donate money to UGA to even have a chance to buy tickets in the first place. The more you give, the better your odds of being able to buy the seats that you want.

So, how much money do I have to give UGA, on top of all my tuition that they've already eaten, for the privledge of being put on the list to see if I'm going to be allowed the opportunity to buy tickets?

I assume that in better years, the amount you have to pay them goes up. For example, I remember in 1997 you could just walk up to the Butts-Mhere Heritage Hall and purchase a Florida ticket the day before you made the treck to Jacksonville, that's how much we sucked back then.

For the upcomming season, I bet it will be much harder. I mean, there are compaines who get tickets for like hundreds of employees and then there are rich sponsors who donate millions and hundreds of thousands and get tickets on the 50 yard line or in the skybox.

So where does that leave an average joe like myself who just wants to get to the games and doesn't particularly care where he sits as long as he's there?

I think it's rather arbitrary. I assume the more you give the better shot you have. The demand this year will be unbelievable.

I don't know how you \"get started\" but once you are in and have season tickets you usually start in the end zone and will start working your way around the stadium to better seats (and UGA's priority bill gets higher as well).

My brother and I split tickets with an old classmate of his at UGA. Four tickets (we have 2), in the mezzanine (next to the press box)on about the 10-12 yard line and our 1/2 of the priority is $1250 just to get the right to buy the season tickets at $40 a piece.

Expensive weekend?...Yes, and worth every penny.

What you ought to do is have two members of your family be vested employees of the University, then go halvesies on season tickets with one of them.

At least, that's what I do...

Getting Season tickets is very tough, they don't even give former players from the national champ team any kind of special treatment or discount or anything haha.
