Kregg Lumpkin

Does anybody know what the status is on Kregg Lumpkin's knee? I sure do hope that he can get some carries in his last game as a Bulldog at the Sugar Bowl. It's a shame but he has definitely become the forgotten man in the backfield this year (remember he was listed as our #1 RB coming out of Spring practice). I feel that he has had one heck of a 5-year career at UGA and he would have fared even better if it weren't for all of the injuries he suffered through.

That's a good question, goose. I had heard just before the GT game that Lump would be available for the bowl game, but I haven't heard any updates since then.

kregg has been one of my favorite players since he came on the scene, and more so after i heard his story about struggling to get into uga. im with y'all, i sure hope he gets to carry the ball, and i would really like for him to be rewarded for his career with a touchdown or two.

This was reported about 6 hours ago:

INJURY UPDATE

Senior tailback Kregg Lumpkin practiced with the team Thursday and is excited about his return for the bowl game. Lumpkin still has a slight limp from the knee injury he suffered in the Vanderbilt game but expects it to be gone in time for the Sugar Bowl, he said.

\"I'm glad he's able to play this last game,\" Richt said. \"I think it's going to be valuable for him. If he didn't play in this game, there would probably be some questions going into the next phase (the NFL). That will be one less question he has to answer.\"

Wide receiver Sean Bailey (knee) and place-kicker Brandon Coutu (hamstring) could return to practice Dec. 14, the next time the Bulldogs take the practice field.
