Yep. He was 2-4 in the Sugar Bowl, too, including losing two opportunities (after the '76 and '82 seasons) to win the national championship. He lost a lot and tied a lot of his bowl games. Hey, Vince Dooley is the real reason I hate Pitt...we could have won the NC in 1976; Pitt beat us and won it. We might have had a chance to split the NC in 1981; Pitt beat us and Clemson won it outright.

That 76 team was the team coached by Johnny Majors and featured the Herschel of Pitt Tony Dorsett. What can you do.

My father attended Pitt and had just moved down here before the Sugar Bowl between us and them.

Still says that is the greatest game he ever attended.

He thought the game was lost.
