Mr Moreno is a fine runnig back and an excellent athlete. I know he is only a red shirt freshman, but he needs to mature and get a better hold on his emotions. He was pulled from the game and replaced by T. Brown. He came to the sideline, pulled his helmet off and slammed it to the ground behind the coaches. Thomas Brown supported Moreno and shared the running back position with him until he injured his collarbone. Moreno had great success running the ball in Brown's absence. Brown is a senior and was running well, so the coaches went with the hot hand. CMR needs to talk to that young man and get his head straight. He is reading too much of his press and I think he needs to come down from his lofty peach, after all this is a team game, not a one man show. Just some thoughts in the aftermath of a great game.
As always, GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!
I dont think he was mad about being pulled, he was just frustrated that he couldn't find any gaps against that defense.I think the difference was that Thomas Brown is just a tad faster than Knowshon and he could hit the hole just before the blitz got there.I don't think him slamming his helmet down had anything to do with Thomas Brown going in, I think Knowshon was just upset because he felt he let his team down because he cares about the team.I do not see any immatureness or \"selfness\" by him, he's always the first to congratulate his team and always gives his team credit, sure he likes to celebrate, but he never does it on the field of play or by himself, its always with his teamates on the sideline.I have to disagree that he is a show boat or is big-headed.
From what I saw, I agree with Mcshea--I think he was frustrated with not being able to break one against the bugs. I don't think he was upset at TB over being pulled.
Also, he did make one hell of a bad play into one hell of a good play when he dropped the lateral, got knocked down, got back up and chased the Tech player down and stripped the ball in the endzone, and I think he purposely knocked it out of the back of the end zone to avoid the safety and give us the ball back because it looked like he could have fallen on it easily but he bumped it out instead.
I like them both. It was gratifying to see TB have a great game, a great kid from a fine family, who has worked his tail off. I think Knowshon wasjust a little frustrated.
