From Athens- Friday Thoughs

Good Morning,

We were treated this week to a well thought out letter by
CC. It covered his feeling about being a Dawg and playing here in Athens.
#31 will do well with his challenges in life with the tools he has in place.

It makes a great cover letter for his resume….DGD…..for sure.

March Madness and Coach Krzyzewski- When Coach K won his 1K game

I posted that regardless how you feel about college basketball and Duke what Coach K has done in his career is noteworthy.

Speaking about how he approaches each game he underlined that he coaches each game as it was his first.
Same effort, same attention to detail it is the only way to build consistency.

He went on to say he could not ask his players to do more than he was willing to. In the words of the late Mr. Spock- logical but often forgotten.

The same words, he didn’t want your best tackle or your best block in the first quarter. He wants every run, every lift to be exactly the same.

Consistency……doing it over and over until it becomes a good habit.

This dovetails with CTR said …learn to win in November if you still want to be playing in December and January. Truth spoken by all three coaches.

This and That-

Great deal of chatter about QB’s this week. Who will start, who will stay or leave and what to expect in 2015.

It is no secret that there is a great deal of mistrust felt by some whom post here toward our HC.

That he has a history of misleading players to come to Georgia then switches them to different positions or does not give them a fair chance at PT.

Claims also have made that he is also willing to waste your career so you don’t play elsewhere.

In short CMR is a teller of non-truths (liar) and cannot be trusted.

I am not speaking about his coaching ability and dumb play calling

Just addressing his trust worthiness or lack of.

We don’t know what we don’t know.

Unless I am missing something we all are using second & third hand information plus what we see ourselves to form our opinions.

Add what comes across from the media and shake it up and you come up with your thoughts.

It seems like with 15 years of history and with a large number of players who have been in the program a smoking gun(s) would point to our HC’s being less than truthful that would provide us greater details.

Keeping an open Mind…..not about our coaches that is a personal choice…. but to the possibility of what this group of players may accomplish with their efforts and hard work.

I completely understand that prolonged frustration and repeated disappointment leads to a lack of optimism and confidence in coaching.

True enough that no matter how many times you watch the movie Titanic the damn boat sinks…and just like Lucy pulling the ball away when Charlie Brown goes to kick it.

You may feel that the results are the same with how our football seasons have gone in the recent years it is however vastly different.

None of current players were alive the last time we won a Natty…

Our 2015 team lives in the present and is working to win this year…
as is our coaching staff.

CMR is going no were until one of two things takes place…. IMO…

He chooses to retire…..

Or the program collapses and we have back to back losing seasons.. this will cause revenues to decline sharply.

The folks who sign his check are happy with his performance

800K in raises and add 2 years to his contract…

We need to win in spite of him…not because of him….

As Buc pointed out correctly…internet gives a voice that was not available a short time ago….faster than letters to the editor.

Like we told Scooby…more voices here make it better for all… a very good thing…

Thriller….new crop of smoked hedges will be available in late summer…

Interesting how with the QB talk this week nobody spoke about Logan Gray…. Imac is much better than having your Backup QB fielding fair catches on punts. Ya think…… progress in recruiting ??

Just an example we all can look at the same thing and see differently.
