Latest news on Jamaree Salyer . . . . now has a 5***** rating. Don't always agree with some of the 5***** ratings but Jamaree is one fine athlete. Keeping fingers crossed for this young man. Everyone throughout college football will be trying to get Salyer's attention. This is a case where I feel "some" confidence because we have Coach Sam on our sideline.
Two of our starters on defense are having some problems, medical.
For the first time in many years I am not as far down as I was a short time back. Total depth is not a finished project at this point, we are however I feel far removed from where we would have been prior to Smart and Company running the show in Athens.
Do not think for a minute that we will have to start moving players from one side of the ball to the other. That used to bother me more than my words can express.
Guess it is true that we will probably be a lot stronger "team wise" with this group of coaches having another year (2018) to recruit. Champ said another year or two and we (UGA) will look a lot different that prior years. Three years are usually expected for a team to improve with a head coaching change. First one and a half years are impressive.
Still going to come down to play calling on both sides of the ball even having real "depth" . . . . finally.
Think this comes under "Recruiting" . . . . Recruiting an Athletic Director.
Lifted the italic paragraph below from Seth's AJC column.
All any of us have to do is look at the lines waiting for concessions. Football team improves to the point that men like Champ Bailey and others predict . . . . lines like the one in the photograph below will not come close to the numbers increase that will follow.
Have chirped on the restrooms along with others for years. Bill King brought the restrooms issue to the FANS attention, not that it was not bad already, had not been talked about in the media. Bill King chose to "step up".
McGarity seems cock sure that the hiring of Kirby Smart will dismiss many of the "back logged issues" . . . . WRONG.
Wrong person for the job of Athletic Director. Same director that had a football coach call him and Mahogany Row out on the Indoor Practice Facility. Changes McGarity mentions in Seth's article he has used for too long.
Not going away Greg McGarity. You had ample opportunity to take care of FAN issues. Good old boys can protect you for just "so long". Time at this point is not in your favor.
“We have addressed certain areas of the stadium every year, and we still plan to do that,” McGarity said. “And what we would do is at the appropriate time, whether it’s around our next board meeting, or some point at time before that, we would let our people know what’s going on. But we usually do that kind of before the season starts, as far as what’s new at Sanford Stadium. Do we need to talk about it more? Probably so. Now that it’s become an issue for a number of people. What are our plans. Can we communicate that better, absolutely.”
Reading the article below from Seth Emerson, clear explanation as to why Greg McGarity needs to be released.
Bet this . . . . at some point there will be a "show down" between McGarity and Smart. Smart understands "FANS" just as he understands "football", might be defensive football, but he does understand "something". Appears to me that we are on the same track that Alabama was on after the arrival of Nick Saban. Not a bad plan to follow. McGarity is not the Athletic Director in Florida because Jeremy Foley had other plans, McGarity did not fit that plan.
Having spent the afternoon (3/2/2017) reading "many" sites on the way Greg McGarity has handled his "duties" since returning "home", and it seems Scrooge is always looking for another dollar.
McGarity was welcomed to Dawgs.com when he first arrived. Many or some of us believed this was a good move.
Looking back, we also thought that Mark Richt would surely have us in the Final Four.
Same feelings for me now that I have had enough time to mull over . . . . McGarity, numbers cruncher. He will ride the back of Kirby Smart and at some point the rubber will meet the road. Do not forget Mahogany Row, they also do not use the urinals that overflow. They also do not stand in line for drinks and food.
Whether you like this kind of talk or not, the FANS have been treated like "spit" for years.
Richt pulled in over 4 million a year. McGarity pulls in above the half million mark.
Who pays for that?
Thanks again to Bill King and Seth Emerson for "speaking out" . . . . for the FANS. The folks that do not sit in the upper levels, that do stand in lines, just love the "colors" and have done so much for UGA longer than Richt and McGarity.
Wake up folks, Dawgs.com has had a lot to say about the "above" for years. Glad to be a part of those that understand the "Bull Spit".
Many of these young recruits will leave in two, three or four years, many of us have been around since their grandparents and great grandparents wore the "colors".
Said this three years ago on Dawgs.com . . . . Greg McGarity, please leave. Took a lot of FANS standing up and asking for a coaching change, that happened. Personally do not want McGarity riding on the tail feathers of Kirby Smart and improving his stature. Nothing wrong with the "Bean Counters", however, McGarity is the "ultimate" bean counter. Easy game to play when you are playing with other folks money.
For you McGarity . . . . you and the public relations group tried to "tag" the new facility as something other than . . . . Indoor Practice Facility.
Previous administration called it "ISIL". Those of us that know use the term "ISIS".
Never doubt that many that have been in the "business world" longer than you have been alive understand your "incompetence". FACT.
Go Dawgs, hopefully with "Leadership". Some cannot be "Coached Up"! We have one of those for sure.
