My initial thoughts were that Grantham wanted out of here before he became such a soiled product that he would never find work again as a coordinator. Petrino wanted him because no other reputable coordinator type would agree to go to work for a scumbag such as himself.

But I'm just spitballin' a guess.

Well yeah, but it's is an easier conference and Petrino might not want the D to outshine his offense. As in some other cases, it might be the safety net for Petrino to have the built in fall guy if Louisville isn't successful.
