Not really a Jeff Schultz fan but he did a really nice job on this article.

Interesting southerlover.......hard to believe he actually gained 847 yards, sure doesn't seem like it, huh?

Btw, the more I think about it, Wing (the punter) of LSU probably should have won the FOY award.

Kind of funny Schultz came out with this article. I was sitting around last night thinking about IC and what I have seen. I also questioned myself of maybe being a little to hard on the kid. I wanted to evaluate my own personal expectations for the kid.

After doing a lot of thinking, I remembered what I expected from Crowell. I never bought into the idea that IC would come in this year, and set any type of records. Looking back at the entire year, I am not totally displeased with what he did on the field. I wish the kid was tougher, but I don't know the extent of his injury. Maybe it is worse than I know.

I am very disappointed in the kid's attitude. From the failed drug test, to the feeling he gives off that he is bigger than the team. Maybe IC is all UGA behind closed doors, but I sure don't get that impression from what I see.

Earlier stated that I wanted him gone. Going to change my approach. IC has been crowned and tended to since he was probably a soph in high school. He is still an 18 year old kid. Maybe he can grow up. I do like the CMR has come out verbally and said this will be an open competition. I just hope CMR and the rest of the staff realize now that what he was ranked coming out of high school has absolutely no relevance. Make it a true competition.

I also think IC and Schultz are missing the point. UGA fans disappointment has nothing to do with production. It is the off the field and attitude that are turning fans against IC. He controls all of that. Grow up son.

I dunno.. he seems to be defending IC a bit, and points to different events but tends to isolate
them a bit. Each event on it's own was not something to cause the turn on IC. It was a cumulative
affect of all those things combined, each adding another pile of dirt. He is unwilling to commit
to the negative attitude to IC as being fair or unfair, but I do not suffer from that same
lack of commitment.

Look at this comment..

"If another player was trying to play through the pain of an injury, he would’ve been celebrated for trying to gut it out."

True, but it's probably also true that the "other player" he would be talking about would not have
been suspended for dope, missed classes, taking himself out of almost every game we had the entire
season, been benched as starter for a couple of games, etc etc.

Now he also says what is lost in this is that we are talking about 18 year old kids. I agree completely with the gist of that comment, but what he fails to note is that other 18 year old
kids do not display those same issues and IC is going to be compared to that standard. Yes 18
year olds are going to make mistakes, but given my preference I would like to begin with 18
year olds that already have a clear enough head on their shoulders to avoid the IC issues
noted above.

Plus while it's not fair to stereotype a person, as each situation has it's own unique setting
and reasons... but some of us have seen this movie before. We know the likely ending.

IC's future is not our decision, so in that regard we are just voicing opinion. An opinion
that states pretty fairly how we feel this record will end if it continues to play as it
has.

Just read where Mike Davis, de-comit from Florida has been offered by UGA. While many are crossing fingers for the young backs from North Carolina, makes me happy to see us stepping out and trying to avoid the mistakes of the past.

And from what I've read, it sounds as if Keith Marshall will NOT have academic issues. That would remove at least ONE possible concern.

If we can just find one guy who can hold onto the ball, not get high and not flunk out or quit on the team. Doesn't seem like that's too tall an order for even an 18 year old.
