I guess we kind of hijacked that other thread with NASCAR stuff. Anyway, Fire_dawg, I think you're right about this year being more exciting. I'm just sick of the Danica crap already. I saw on the race yesterday they said she was the first woman to start a Nationwide race since 2007 or something like that. True, but, ummmmmmm, Crissy Wallace also started the race yesterday, but they didn't mention that. I just don't care for Danica because in one breath, she says she wants respect as a racer, not just another pretty face, blah, blah, blah, but then she's doing Maxim photoshoots and making godaddy.com (basically softcore porn) commercials. Just my opinion on her.

On board Brother. Race fixing to start, should be one of the better D500's in some time. One note for Fire_Dawg . . . . special instructions from this old firefighter (foam) . . . if you ever have to pull or help DP out of a disabled car, you need to be careful, could be a hand full. Gentlemen start your engines . . . . Junior Johnson . . . bootlegger back in the day.

Interesting sadlerdawg, lot of good cars in this race. You sure have a couple of folks in the hunt. 78 to go, will be like the Fourth of July, fireworks to come . . . .

Buc, your right!
That was what NASCAR was telling us to try and stay away from. Like we tried to tell them, if we have to make an emergency move to get someone out of the car.....that is gonna be the last thing on our mind. And if it means grabbing a hand full...then so be it because I'm gonna grab a hold of anything I can to get them out of that window! I think they need to look at it from our point of view, our job is to help them when they get in trouble.
I think the delay of the 2 red flags was worth the finish. Glad Jamie got the win, but think Jr. would have had him if they had 1 more lap. But, oh well they didn't. Just ready for a weekend filled with the smell of high test racing fuel!!!

I don't know about you but the last two races have been boring. I have loved Nascar forever. But the past two races I could not even watch. Don't get me wrong you couldn't have paid me to turn the tv during daytona, that was a great race.
P.S. I am tired of seeing jimmy dominat the sport. If we didn't have the chase I don't see him winning 4 in a row. I just don't like the chase.

Hey Yall, I was ah big nascar fan before all the political correctness ruined it, like it ruins everything else it touches!! Jimmie johnson is about as exciting as watching paint dry. They have got rid of the real men in nascar or tried to mold them into these corporate spokesman instead of letting them be who they are. I am sure Dale Earnhardt is turning in his grave seeing what nascar has become today and where it is headed. GO DAWGS!!!!

HH and OSD, I'm with y'all!! I'm hoping that Happy, Smoke or ANYBODY wins this week!! I'm heading down to AMS in the morning. Sadler, I'll give Happy's car a good luck rub for ya!! I'm really excited to see the black #3 back out on the track! Even if it is a truck, it's still the BLACK #3!! OSD, I think the sport had a real down turn when SR. died. NASCAR was so concerned about safety that they went off the deep end. I'm hoping that the drivers are having to get used to the lax policies on bump drafting and aggression and will come out of their shells this weekend. Oh well, only time will tell.

NCAA golf and tennis underway at UGA, softball on Friday
ATHENS — I’m over here in the press box at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex watching the No. 6-seeded Georgia women take on 11th-seeded Texas in the first round of the NCAA Tennis Championships. The Lady Bulldogs won the doubles point, so it’s 1-0 and Georgia is up a set at all six singles positions.
Georgia Tech’s women’s team played earlier today and lost to No. 9 California 4-0. That ends the Yellow Jackets’ season at 16-12. The men get underway tomorrow.
Meanwhile, I’ll take this opportunity to catch you up on some other news happening in and around Athens and UGA...

UGA golfers hopes to ride wave of good karma through NCAA regionals
ATHENS — The NCAA Men’s Golf Regional at the UGA Golf Course is underway today and the Bulldogs are feeling good about advancing to the NCAA Championships.
And why shouldn’t they? There has been a lot of good karma oozing out of the Bulldogs’ clubhouse at the Boyd Golf Center here lately.
University of Georgia golfers or alums have been winning tournaments all over the place for the past year or so, including those played right there off their back porch. Two weeks ago Hudson Swafford holed a bunker shot on the 72nd hole and shot a final-round 62 to...

Florida influence apparent in managment style of UGA’s Greg McGarity
ATHENS – There are some nervous coaches around Georgia’s athletic department these days. That tends to happen when the coach of perennial top 10 program abruptly resigns the week after finishing 11th.
Georgia gymnastics coach Jay Clark offered his resignation shortly after meeting with UGA athletic director Greg McGarity on May 4 and it served as an overture to his staff. Clark had two years remaining on a five-year contract he signed when he succeeded ultra-successful head coach Suzanne Yoculan in 2009.
The Gym Dogs weren’t awful under Clark, not by a long stretch. But they fell well short of the standards...

No. 2 seed Georgia ready again to rock NCAA tennis championships
ATHENS — For a little while there, the horrifying thought of not being able to play in the NCAA Championships while hosting them entered the minds of the Georgia Bulldogs on Sunday. But just as quickly, the No. 3-ranked and No. 2-seeded Bulldogs put that notion to rest and steamrolled Florida State in singles to advance to this week’s Round of 16.
Georgia (25-2) lost the doubles point in its second-round match against Florida State on Sunday afternoon. But in the matter of an hour it was clear the Bulldogs weren’t in mid-stumble toward a face plant. The Bulldogs quickly regained...
